    Here are some good recipes:

Stir fry- You need cut up tofu, soy sauce, olive oil, steamed veggies, and cooked rice

Get a frying pan and coat it with olive oil. The put the tofu in the pan and brown each side of it. Next, add the veggies. Add a little soy sauce and put in the rice. Mix everything up and then let it sit on the stove, occasionally stirring it to make sure it doesn't burn. After about a minute and a half of that put it in a bowl and enjoy!

Hummus- chick peas, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and any other spices/seasonings you like

Puree the chick peas. Then add a little lemon juice, paprika, pepper, and other spices. Then stir. Serve with a pita, with cucumbers, or on a veggie wrap.

Here are some snack and dinner suggestions:

Whole foods is a great store for vegetarians/vegans, so I recommend grocery shopping there. You also can get a lot of the things I listed above there.

  4. Take the things that you were eating before and adapt them.

Meatloaf - there is soy meat that you can buy that will make a meatloaf that tastes really good found in the health food refrigeration section of your grocery.  Same thing goes for meatballs - stuffed peppers - sloppy Joe's.

I like to grill on the weekends - they have soy burgers and hot dogs - along with veggies that are spiced and cooked within sealed foil - grilled corn with a 'butter' that is seasoned with garlic and other spices - potato from the grill tastes totally different than baked.

I like having soup and baked potato for supper.  Vegetable soup is one of my favorites - but actually like many.  I have many cookbooks and just adjust the recipes to fit my diet needs.

Make a 'cheese' cake the same as you would normally - but use 'Toffuti Cream Cheese' instead for a great dessert.

I don't approach the way that I eat as having to make dramatic changes - I adapt what I already like to eat - easier approach for me.

As for 'ice cream' - try 'Soy Delicious' - or it might now be called 'So Delicious' (I always mess that up).  In the freezer section where you find health food usually.  I have found them at all the markets in my area - and it is a small town.

  5. Get yourself a copy of "Veganomicon" by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero.  Your library should have a copy if you don't want to buy it without testing a few recipes first.  It's fabulous.  I've tried at least two dozen recipes so far and they are all good.  And creative.

Purely Decadent and Coconut Bliss are two really excellent vegan ice cream brands.  I get them at Whole Foods, but all the regular grocery stores near me carry them, too (just not as many flavors as Whole Foods usually has.)

  6. Lots of Vegan Recipes here:

    http://www.simpleveganrecipes.co.uk/

    http://www.vvf.org.uk/

    http://www.veganvillage.co.uk/recipes/ma...

I make vegan banana muffins as an occasional treat:

You can buy vegan ice cream from a good health foods store, such as Holland & Barrett. Vegan ice cream is often made with rice or soya, and there are a number of flavours available.

    Hope this helps.
