Vegan traveling to mexico?

i am a vegan traveling to mexico for 4 days

what can i bring thats portable.

i am use to eating certain things everyday but now i cant.

While the modern Mexican diet revolves around meat and cheese, it's very possible to be vegan in Mexico. At restaurants, just find the dishes that are closest to being vegan and request the non-vegan items to be removed. My friend regularly goes down to Tijuana for work and eats at the same places who make custom food just for her (they find veganism fascinating and odd but are flexible and catering.) Last year I spent a week in Mexico City and ate off street vendors just fine. Never understood why people say to avoid them if you're not eating meat, maybe it's less clean in rural areas? If you have access to a kitchen, you can make anything you want as long as you can find the raw materials in markets. Also search for vegetarian restaurants if available. There were several in Mexico City and one had great mock carne asada tacos.

Be very careful eating fruit and vegetables in Mexico except at the best of restaurants. Never from a street vendor.

The only safe way to eat fruit and vegetables is to soak them in PURE water with a drop or two of Iodine in the water for about 10 minutes then wash them with PURE water. Some places use salt water but that is not as good and can leave some dangerous parasites.

It is easy to eat as a vegetarian or vegan in Mexico because there is such a wide choice of fruits and vegetables.  There are many vegetarian restaurants and many restaurants feature vegetarian meals.  You can also speak to the waiter, and every restaurant  I have ever been in, will prepare you a vegetable plate.  Many Mexican dishes are meatless. You should be just fine for a 4 day visit.  I have friends who visit for much longer periods, and others who live here who have no problem  eating here as vegetarians or vegans.
