I know a lot exist, but which ones are REALLY REALLY good? I am also interested in one's that are cheaper than others, as I am a college student on a budget.

List your fav restaurants in San Jose/Santa Clara/Sunnyvale areas, your fav items there, and median prices.

Thanks!

  1. Hi there,

Merit Vegetarian on Lawrence Expressway in Sunnyvale is pretty good.  Their Carmelized "chicken" and Sesame eggplant are pretty good as well as their fried wontons.  I usually just get the lunch specials and those are about 7 dollars including rice (brown or white).  http://meritvegetarian.com/

Vegetarian House on Santa Clara St. in San Jose is also good.  It's been a while since I've been there but I remember enjoying everything I got.   If I recall correctly, it's about 7-10 for an entree. http://www.vegetarianhouse.us/

House of Falafel (one on Steven's Creek in Cupertino and one on Lawrence Expressway) is not 100% vegetarian but their falafel wraps and falafel/veggie plates are outstanding.  The "plates" will leave you with leftovers and it's about 6-7 dollars. http://houseoffalafel.com/flashindex.htm...  Be sure to check out Falafel Drive In on San Carlos Ave. in San Jose too.

I have heard great things about Udupi Palace in Sunnyvale and Garden Fresh in Mountain View on El Camino but I haven't really eaten there. http://www.udupipalaceca.com/

Here's the info in you want to go to the Dinner tomorrow, you should RSVP if you want to go: http://www.bayareaveg.org/events.htm?EID...

  2. I like The Vegetarian House.  People from as far as Los Angeles troop there for the food!  Also, check out the list of restaurants on VegDining.com.  Here's the link for California:

    Good luck!
