Question:

Vegans, how do you feel about Vegetarians?

I've heard a lot of controversey over the vegan and vegetarian relationship. Does this apply to you?

Are vegetarians looked down upon because you don't feel that they're doing enough or,

just the opposite,

do you applaud vegetarians for atleast not eating meat?

Has not eating meat become all or nothing, or do we still recknognize every effort towards making the lives of animals better as a whole?

  1. I have no problem with people being vegetarian instead of vegan. The point is that they are making some effort to limit animal suffering, and that's what matters.

  2. It is all about doing the best that you can do. If someone chooses to not eat meat once a week, great. Do what you can do to improve the world.

  3. Well, on this forum last week I leart that I'm lazy, selfish, dont' care for animals, lacking knowledge, ignorant, unable to "do vegan because its too hard", i found out i'm also vegetarian because i want the attention, I'm not that passionate about the cause, and I'm not very educated on animal cruelty and just a wanna-bee

    All comments from vegans.

You make up your own mind on what they think of me.

The unfortunate thing is that I've spend 25 years supporting vegetarians and vegans through various charitable, financial and promotional activities.

Now though, thanks to the comments I've seen on this forum ( not of which were retracted when i pointed out how insulting hey were ), I'm wondering why i even bothered. If those vegans are so great, how come they keep coming to me asking for grants every first monday of the month ? They don't mind putting thier condecending attitude in they back pocket when they begging bowl is out. Now THAT is hypocritical.

And thats the sad status of some of these holier than thou statements - they have a direct impact on your being part of society and getting support from others.

As I said last week, i've re-thought my blanket support for vegans.

  4. I think it is great that they are all trying to make a difference.  Every steak not eaten is help for the cause.

The only situation I don't like is the "vegetarians" who still eat Jell-O, wash with regular soap, and so-on.  It isn't enough that the food/product doesn't look like meat, there is a certain level of education needed.  Be informed about the things you are putting in your body and on your body.

  5. vegans, vegatarians, blah blah

im about to go have a nice steak with a side of pork

    mmmmmmmm

  6. i think its really rude to be "looked down upon" because im a vegetarian. so what if i drink milk and have eggs once in a while? i know that im making a huge effort to save a cow that could become a steak or hamburger. i dont treat vegans as if their holy because they choose to void out all animal products. we're both fighting for a common cause. it makes no sense for there to be a wall between the two.

  7. from my experience, vegans see vegitarians as hypocrites and vegitarians see vegans as extremests but we should all get along for the basic purpose---getting animals safe and becoming more natural and down to our roots!!

  8. im a vegan and dont mind vegetarians. i have more vegetarian friends than vegan friends but i like them just as they are, dont think any more or less about them just as they are

  9. I think lacto-ovo vegetarians should take it a step further if they are interested in animal lib./AR but at least they are doing something.

    Vegan is Believin'
