  1. I don't agree with my families omnivore lifestyle but i am careful not to be to pushy or negative about their meat/dairy eating because i don't want them to resent the idea of being a vegan. : )

  2. I live in a family of five, including myself.

I'm the only vegan, while the rest are avid meat-eaters.

I'd prefer if everyone was considerate and didn't eat animal products, but that's not going to happen.

My main concern is that they use most of the knives, grills, pots and pans that I also need to use, but have to be really careful about because meat disgusts me.

  3. I don't think about what others are eating, it is none of my business.

Although it would be nice if everyone were a vegetarian or vegan:)

  4. I worry about people's diets in general. If I didn't, I would probably make for a bad dietician.

I think my friends/peers/family make choices that best suit them. I may not agree with them on that or other things (like religious beliefs, etc.) I try to educate them but never force anything on them.

I consider most people I talk to (as friends/peers) to be somewhat intelligent. So, I respect their thoughts. I don't enjoy eating dinner with them, always, but I won't say that to them while they eat or even after/before unless it comes up in some type of civil discussion.

Each person has a choice. I wish for the sake of humanity alone that we had a better educational system when it comes to healthy nutritional choices (be it vegetarian or not!) so that people could make more informed decisions. In that regard, I am concerned with everyone's diets. Especially those I care about.

That's about it. I eat what I eat. They eat what they eat. It's mutual respect.

  5. uggh when i see my friends and family chewing on meat it makes me so glad that i chose to become a pescoterian!

  6. Alice W. aka Christy/ Ashley the troll is stereotyping people that are not vegetarian/vegan.  I am not vegetarian, but I eat mainly fresh produce and whole grains, not all non veg people eat fast food all day long. and as far as the "stomach stapling, she has no knowledge of that procedure whatsoever.  I don't care what people around me eat, I worry about my own health. Sometimes I bring a healthy thing to work to share with my coworkers, I inwardly hope it inspires them to eat well, but I don't tell them what they should be eating. I have family members that eat really badly, and I wish they would eat healthier, but you just can't force your beliefs and eating habits on anyone, so just take care of yourself, and hope that your healthy eating habits will encourage them to eat better, vegetarian or not.

  7. i'm just starting to be a vegetarian, and when i think of the way i used to eat, it does sicken me. when i think of putting a steak in my mouth, i now think of a poor bloody dead rotting cow, and it makes me wish i had never eaten meat

  8. I am rather worried about the health of my friends, and I get hella excited whenever I see them eating fruits or vegetables. It doesn't really bother me to watch people eat meat as it doesn't even come across as "edible" to me. If it were my choice, everyone would be a vegan, but if my friends are happy with their food preferences then I'm not going to try to interfere.

I have influenced my boyfriend's family to eat more veggies =) My boyfriend never eats a meal without meat! But he says that when we are married he will pretty much be vegan anyway since I'll be the one cooking. We went to an outdoor concert/festival and all of the vendors were selling food such as vegan curry and vegan pitas, and we ordered these things and shared them =) it was the first time we've ever been able to share our meals, and we've been together for 14 months. It was really nice.

My family, on the other hand, still has not accepted my choice to be vegan (it's been over 3 years) and refuse to cook or purchase food for me! On Thanksgiving I had to cook my own d**n meal. I don't really care if they don't want to eat like me, but the fact that they don't try to include me in anything really pisses me off. I guess I've never had a good relationship with my family. Both of my parents are fat anyway, at least I won't be like them when I get older! =)

  9. Everyone can eat the way they feel like it even when you dont agree with it just like people dont agree with being a vegetarian you gotta just put up with meat eaters

  10. I have no problem with the diets of my family and friends. I am not concerned about their diets at all.

I would only worry about their health if they tried to live on apple juice or something.
