Question:

Vegans in the hunting section?

Why do vegans troll the hunting section here?

A question was recently asked in the hunting section

It was clearly marked as a hunting question in the clearly labeled hunting section

As usual a troll for the vegan cause shows up making immature and ignorant judgmental comments

The had the replies to his BS answer violated

Then he had the nerve to e-mail me a pseudo apology from a blocked e-mail address

I have seen the previous remarks from this troll in the hunting section so it was easily dismissed anyway

Why do y'all do this

Do you think it makes you look intelligent or helps to bring people over to your cause?

Or is it, as I suspect, just a case of feeling that in order for some to be open minded they must think as you do?

I have not been a hunter for many many years, but partially due to the troll attack launched from this section recently I am going to take a friend up on his offer to shoot coyotes and bob cats this weekend

  1. I think that you are putting all vegans into the category and it's really not fair.  There are vegans who believe that hunting accidents are fantastic, I am, however, not one of them.  I don't consider a human life to be taken because they are, specifically, hunting animals to be a good thing.  Human lives are valuable, but some people don't see it that way.

You have to understand that there are vegans that go to extremes, whether it's a troll or not.  In every group of people there are extremists and then there are those that believe that what you do is up to you.  I'm one of those.  My life choices shouldn't be judged and neither should yours.  I personally don't agree with hunting but I come from a family of hunters and I know first hand that you are going to change anyone's mind about it.

Don't put me in a category like this, because I don't belong there.

    Have a good one.

  2. I haven't seen this but...what went wrong?

"So, King, just why ARE you a vegetarian? Do you eat chicken? Do you drink milk? Do you eat fish? What about eggs?"

These are questions I hear often, and I must admit that sometimes I get tired of answering them. But the vegetarian lifestyle so important to me that I've decided to dedicate my answers in Y!A to just these questions.

The short answer is, I'm a vegetarian because I care.

I care about protecting the rainforests. I care about preventing the suffering of innocent creatures. I care about preventing topsoil depletion. I care about preventing world hunger. I care about reducing energy consumption. I care about the air we breathe, and the water that flows in rivers. And I care about my own health and others. I honestly believe that the most significant thing I, as an individual, can do for any one of these things I care about is to consume only vegetarian food.

VEGETARIAN & VEGAN context never stop at "eating habit" alone. It is almost a SELFLESS act & SACRIFICE for others. I pegged an extra miles to be a vegan just because I care for others, and future earth as well.

  3. Well sorry but i'm vegan and I have no desires to be in the hunting section. I don't understand why any of us would be in there since basically we all hate hunting! They probably haven't realized Y!A isn't a place to protest!

  4. We can't control trolls and 99.9% of us in this section do not go to other sections and preach.  It's people like you that come in here slinging accusations a lot more often.  WHY do Y'all do it?

  5. Wow. I didn't know there was a "hunting" section. I think I'll go there now to check it out.

  6. Trolls are an unfortunate fact of life here on YA (and most of the rest of the internet.)  And the problem only gets worse when school lets out for the summer.

But, just like the militant "vegans" who post in this category making ridiculous statements that make vegans look like a bunch of nutjobs, your "vegan" trolls are very likely not vegans at all.  They're probably the same lonely 15 year old meat eaters who come here and pose as vegans to make the rest of us look bad.

I have never been to the hunting section because it's not the place for me.  I can concede that I find hunting a more acceptable way of procuring meat than factory farming (under certain parameters... waste and the desire for a trophy worry me.)  But, on the whole, I don't support the practice and can't offer anything to whatever discussion is going on over there.

You should know that some months ago, there were real vegans from this forum joining intelligent discussions over at your place in an effort to debunk the c**p the non-vegan vegan trolls were dishing out.  In return, we had some people from the hunting section offering valid input over here.  I wouldn't expect two groups of people with such different lifestyles to form a lasting relationship and I guess the breakdown of that communication we had going allowed the trolls to creep back in.

I don't think your "threat" to shoot some extra coyotes and bobcats is going to impress anyone here.  If you really mean to understand who your trolls are and what motivates them, your question here is a good one.  But coming to the V&V section and talking about shooting animals out of spite is somewhat trollish behavior in its own right.

  7. Trolls are a fact of life.  Learn to ignore, however many people, just like some fish, feel an absolute need to rise to any bait.

  8. Because, love, in any community, there are people who are beyond reason and beyond control. It is unfortunate, but we hope that their reflection upon is will not mar our image forever in your eyes.

  9. Well you're generalising somewhat. You mention one troll, and then ask why all V&V users troll the hunting section.

Sometimes there are Hunting section trolls who post deliberately silly or baiting questions or answers on V&V, and I'm sure the reverse is true, though a link would have helped us understand what exactly you were talking about.

All YA sections have their trolls, some far, far nastier and more serious than anything in V&V or Hunting. .

Someone from Hunting posted to V&V yesterday politely and respectfully asking for our thoughts on hunting. You might be interested to read the replies he got - if nothing else it would show you that not all, or most of this sections users troll Hunting, or indeed spend any time there at all.

Don't blame us ALL for the actions of a few people or one person. One person claiming to be a hunter was trolling V&V all day yesterday. I don't hold you responsible for his/her actions.

Edit** No need to be offensive, I haven't been.

If your question was directed at specific people, you should have said so. As it is, it appears to be a general question addressed to V&V users as a whole - why do you do this, do you think it makes you look intelligent etc

If I went to the Hunting section and asked why hunters troll V&V (and a few do), I'm sure you would have something to say.

  10. I can only speak for myself.  I didn't even know there was a hunting section on here.  Just so you know we deal with our share of trollers in this section as well.

If you want to use Y!A you just have to deal with it.  Coming to this section to complain will do you no good.  It's pointless.

I am personally not against hunting.  I am only against canned hunting.  That is only my opinion though.  I am just really still confused as to why you thought this would help.

ALL sections get spam and trollers.  I don't know what you want me to do about it.

  11. I haven't seen this, because I never look at the hunting forum. It doesn't interest me. I don't want to read or hear about hunting.

If you think a question or answer is offensive, report it. That's what rules are for.

I can't speak for anyone else, but leave me alone and I'll leave you alone.

  12. ''Why do vegans troll the hunting section here?''.

The hunting section is not off-limits for vegans, as long as they are respectful. But the same goes for hunters in this section. We get our fair share of trolling.

If you have had bad experiences with some vegans, please don't generalise. A vegan gave you Best Answer in the hunting section the other day.

''I have not been a hunter for many many years, but partially due to the troll attack launched from this section recently I am going to take a friend up on his offer to shoot coyotes and bob cats this weekend''- eh?? Is this supposed to annoy vegans? If so I think you need to take a look at your definition of the word ''troll''.
