  1. Las Vegas has a very strong economy right now.  The concern is that it is such a bubble and it's opportunity for growth is so limited that soon the bubble will burst.  Remember 5 years ago when that used to be the cheapest place to go for vacation.  Try staying at a casino or flying out there now - very expensive.  It still has more construction per capita than other comparably sized metropolitan areas.
