Question:

Vegas casino club member questions?

My husband plays Black Jack approx. 10-15 hours a day;

We plan to start going 3-4 times per year (but this would be our 1st real time at a casino where he's only played one night)

Plans to play essentially all in one casino;

1. Are there other ways to get comps out of pit bosses/hosts if you are a club member?

2. Is there any faster way to get a "diamond" tier card while still playing Black Jack. (Betting amounts/talking to pit boss?)

3. Is there a way to schedule comped rooms/upgraded suites, without using comp points (i.e. talking to host about next visit while you are actually there before you leave after gambling) ?

  1. First off, if you want to get rated at the Venetian, you need to be playing big money. Less than $25 a hand won't get you rated, and if you want good comps from a place like that, you better be playing with stacks of green (or black), not single chips.

    The best way to get comped for something at a casino is to ASK. Most people complain that they didn't get this or that, but they never bothered to ask. If your husband sits at a table playing green chips 10 hours a day and doesn't ask for at least a free meal and tickets to a show (for the two of you) at least once a day, he's wasting a golden opportunity.

    The best way to get bigger comps at table games is to try and have a bigger bet out when you think the pit boss is watching. If you're playing $25 a hand most of the time and see the pit boss coming over to chat it up or watch the table, put out a $100 bet for a couple of hands. If he thinks you're playing $100 a hand instead of $25, you're more likely to get better comps.

    Again, the best way to get comped things is to ask. After you've been there a couple days and the pit boss is recognizing you (or your husband, whomever is playing), ask the pit boss who you need to talk to about getting a free suite for your next visit. Do this at the tables, not at the player's club window. If you've been playing at high enough stakes for him to take notice, he'll hook you up with a host or someone to get you a free room, and whatever else he's thinks you're worth.

    Good luck and have fun.

  2. The casinos in general have tightened up on comps at the lower and mid levels, so you will have to work at it.

    Contact a Casino Host since you plan to play mostly at the same casino. A Host will let you know what can be done, and how to do it.

    Call the casino before you go, or check it out online, and talk to the host prior to your trip. Be honest with them about your bankroll and your plans, and also your future plans to return.
