Vegatarin diet unhealthy?

I heard certain nutrients can not be gotten from only vegatables. If that is true what are tehy? If it is not true how do I get these nutrients with vegatables?

    Some people no matter what have to take multivitamins and other supplements simply because they can't get the nutrients from their food or can't properly absorb and use some them.
