Vegetable Glycerin vs Glycerin?

I am trying to make a hair moisturizer using vegetable glycerin,water,rosewater and an essential oil. Instead of purchasing vegetable glycerin I purchased glycerin. I know the difference is that vegetable glycerin is derived from vegetables whereas regular glycerin is derived from animal fat. Do you think it would be still be ok to use the regular glycerin?

I thought normal glycerin is produced/derived with chemical method from fossil fuel product, instead of animal fat.

Why don't you go ahead and make it and see how it goes?
