Question:

Vegetable soup?

I am making vegetable soup. I am using vegetable broth and adding beans, broc, cauflour, red potatos, corn, tomato, and rice. What spices should I use? I know nothing about cooking. HELP? Thanks!

ps. I am vegan too. So, no animal products please.

  1. Ground black pepper, sea salt, bay leaves, dried thyme, cumin powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, curry, and oregano.

    green onions

    or you can try all spice, which has a little of everything

  3. you can try 1 tsp of dried basil

    1/4 tsp of dried oregano

    also you can try some garlic

Onions or onions powder, garlic powder ( 1/2 teaspoon each), salt, pepper, Italian seasonings 1-2 tsp.(basil, parsley, oregano, thyme),celery or celery salt,  Worcestershire sauce (make sure you find one that doesn't have anchovy in it..I think French's brand doesn't), and a small can of tomato sauce adds flavor and thickness as well. Stir in  a couple of teaspoons of flour at the beginning if you want a little thicker soup.

    Makes me hungry thinking about homemade soup.......Good luck!

  5. Salt, Black Pepper and a Bayleaf.

    if you want a mediterranean flavour add mixed herbs instead of bayleaf.

    If you want something warm and spicy add cummin and a little chilli powder.

  6. I hope the beans and rice are already cooked or you could have some extremely overdone vegies!

    Some good spices for a vegetable soup are freshly ground pepper (black, green, or white), sea salt, ground cayenne, garlic, lemon zest or juice.

    You really should look at a recipe and you can substitute your likes/dislikes.

  7. 1 1/2 tsp onion powder & Garlic Powder, 1tsp Celery salt.... Cracked black pepper and a few bay leafs.. some fresh minced garlic would be nice to ( i use tons of garlic in everything)

  8. A bay leaf or too/carraway seeds/french lentils would probably good.

    Or you could put some red peper flakes/onion/garlic and get something a little spicier.

    Experiment.
