Question:

Vegetarian Cookbook Advice?

I'm going to live in Eastern Europe for a year, and their grocery stores are much smaller and the ingredients more limited than what you find in the States, or Canada or Western Europe.

Do you know of any tasty vegetarian cookbooks with relatively simple ingredient lists? I mean, it's not just meat and potatoes there, you can find fruit, vegetables, grains, just no exotic Indian or Thai spices or any of that yummy stuff (unfortunately). I'm looking for something a little stripped down, yet yummy. Also the fewer tofu recipes the better because I'm not sure how easy that'll be to find.

Thanks!

  1. I would see if there's an English bookstore in your new neighborhood that has a translation of a relatively local cookbook. Best way to get recipes that will work with local foods.

Allrecipes.com also has a search feature where you can select ingredients you want and ingredients you don't want. Sounds like that would be very helpful too.

  2. Hope this helps

  3. Try to open a website for vegetarian cookbook.
