  1. Kimchi is out, as it uses fish sauce.

How about - Bibimbap (request for a veg. version omit meat etc), spinach salad, soybean soup (just make sure the stock base do not contain anything from fish), soybean salad, mushroom salad?

You can alway request the Korean restaurant to whip up something vegetarian for you.  Maybe, you will be surprise with the food.  : )

  2. We have been to Korean restaurants and were able to order vegetarian (even vegan!) food, or request for vegetarian versions of Korean dishes, just omitting meat and seafood.

I don't know where you are, so I can't make any suggestions for Korean vegetarian or veg-friendly restaurants, but in any case, check out the list on VegDining.com; here's the link:

I hope this helps.  Good luck!

  3. I love vegetarian jabche (chapche?) and vegetable mandu.  I haven't eaten meat since I was 10 and I actually LOVE Korean food. I also eat meat-free kimbap...

  4. You can't go wrong with Dol Sot Bi Bim Bop. It's about the only vegetarian food I will order in a restaurant.

Mixed veggies over rice in a super hot stone bowl.  Everything sizzles like a fajita.  Sometimes they put a raw egg on top and it cooks with the heat of the bowl.
