Vegetarian Questions?

well... I've been a vegetarian for awhile now.

And everyone is always saying it's stupid and makes fun of me for it. I have kinda been thinking to give up. It's pointless when you don't have any support. From your friends or family. I know i can keep on going and i know that i am making a difference. But i don't know what to say to them when they start. Saying stuff like. "oh, look i didn't finish my meat, that animal died for no reason." It hurts when my friends say stuff like that.

how should i react and what should i say to them????

  1. im a vegetarian for health reasons. so for those alone give u hardcore proof of how worthwhile what ur doing is. people who become vegetarians lose an average of 15 pounds, i lost 23.

ur healthier than them, and let them know it, next tiem u see them eating meat tell them how many calories their is an how u can see their butt gettign bigger. never give up because of other people!! ur important enough to do this for, an we support u ♥ be proud ur a vegetarian, an ur healthier, and going to live, leaner an longer than them

their probally making fun of u because they know this and are jealous.

  2. honestly dont give something up that u believe in just becasue others dont believe in it or taunt you for it. i'm 15 and out of my friends i'm the only vegetarian. people have actually called me a treehugger, which isent even correct... the people that are teasing u about not eating meat are the ones that sound stupid and immature. to react to them i normally just go yaa okk and laugh it off, just learn to accept that people have different opinions and will always disagree. also if you are eating well theres a study that people who dont eat meat have less chance of getting cancer and certain diseases. also they normally weigh less and are helping the environment. so do wut u think is best =)

  3. you should tell them to cut it out and that you care for animals and the fact that they taunt you about it is really hurtful.

don't give up, you'll just be giving into them! they want you to cave, thats why they are teasing you.

  4. Why does it hurt? Either laugh or don't give them the time of day. People are idiots and like to poke fun at people who are different.

How old can that stuff get. They sound like they have no lives to speak of so they go after you. Just rolls your eyes and smile. Don't let them know that you are bothered or they will keep doing it.

It's not as fun if you don't seem to notice how ignorant they are.

  5. Being vegetarian is a unique style. Never get hurt if your friends say that because you know your doing the right thing.(their not good friends if they make fun of u like that). If you think its right(it is) then you should shoot for the stars!

  6. If it makes a difference to you, and it makes you happy .. then don't give up just because some people are putting you down.

Maybe they don't understand why you made this choice, so let them know.  Even if they don't share the same viewpoint as you, they should at least respect your choice.  I don't know what it's like to be a full-time vegetarian, but I'm sure that is isn't always easy.  I give you props, and I hope that they start to realize and accept what you want to do :].

  7. I gather from your question that you're likely pretty young.  When you get older, you'll realize that what your friends think doesn't mean sh*t in the grand scheme of things.

Make decisions with your own brain.  Follow your own heart.  What you're doing is good and right, and anyone who disagrees can either shut-up and deal with it and love you despite your differences, or take a long walk off a short pier.

How to react?  Don't.  Your "friends" are bugging you to elicit a reaction.  If you stop reacting, they'll stop bugging.

  8. Stay a vegetarian if that is what pleases you, just call anyone who makes remarks about it carnivorous. If you feel that the veg courses are a benefit to you carry on with them no matter what.

  9. It's like anything else you feel passionate/strong about.  You have to stand up for yourself and defend your beliefs.  Don't be afraid to tell them how you really feel about your choice to be a vegetarian.
