  1. soymilk (chocolate is soo yummy)

    chickpeas are loaded

almonds (shredded on a salade is awesome)

  2. that selina chick has no idea what she is talking about when she said vegetarians eat seafood, no they do not vegheads dont eat any flesh and that includes seafood.

nuts, and hummus, would be good protein sources.

honestly you are probably getting plenty of protein already, from dairy.

its if you go vegan it would be a little trickier.

  3. there's no protein issue  in a vegetarian diet.

this site i reference alot because it lists the mineral, vitamin information along with a very quick  protein calculation.

eat the stuff on these lists.. you'll do more than fine.. you'll be getting more than your daily allowance.

try to drop the dairy...  IE:    eggs are a major cholesterol factor...  one egg has estimated 200 mg of cholesterol.

  4. Eggs and cheese, and milk (and meat) are not good for athletic performance. They hinder athletic performance. Saturated fat (animal fat), cholesterol... they slow the flow of blood.  There is no denying that -- it's a fact.

If you hate beans and tofu, then you obviously do not know how to cook beans and tofu properly.  Also, there are what, thousands of different kinds of beans out there that you've never tried or even heard of.

Regarding protein, it's everywhere.  In every living thing.  Just EAT.  Eat good, healthy, whole foods.  Avoid junk foods, processed foods, colours, preservatives, sugar, candy, and all that stuff that you already know is no good for you. It's common sense.

You can also look to other athletes such as Dave Scott for examples on what to eat.  Of course, you have to find what works best for you etc, but you will soon see that Dave was still winning well into his 40s because of his diet, while other younger people came and went because they knew how to train, but did not know how to eat.  Food is  your fuel. I did many year of research on diet and athletic performance. It's the reason I became vegan.  Not for animal welfare; for myself.  Sure, later I discovered the horrors of animal treatment etc. but I say, if you are going to eat better, think of yourself first, and what's good for you is invariably good for the animals, environment, etc. too.

  5. oh im a vegetarian too :)

    well..you could try humus!

its a dip that you can eat with fruits or vegtables.

fish and other seafoods are really good for you do..

    and yes,vegetarians do eat seafood.

its vegans who dont eat any seafood.

    anyways..

its a good thing you like eggs.

my doctor tells me to eat atleast three eggs a week!

and  defeintly keep drinking the milk!!

    :)

  6. check out the book The Thrive Diet.... written by a vegan triathlete.

    very good!

  7. Well pecans and other types of nuts are really great for protein. Try eating those if you need quick protein.

  8. How about a nice steak.

  9. Try hummus. Its made from beans, but doesnt taste like beans. You can eat it with pita chips or on toast. Or however really.

Its really tasty and is loaded with protein.

You could try out TVP, textured vegetabke protein. Its ridiculously high in protein and has a texture similar to ground beef. You could put taco seasoning in it, wrap it in a tortilla with some veggies and thats super good for you right there. =)
