Vegetarian food in Berlin.

Question

I have a school trip to Berlin next Easter. Is it easy to eat as a vegetarian in Berlin? Do most restaurants offer vegetarian foods?

Look up happycow.net to find Vegan places from around the world. I'm going to Berlin next week, and have found 44 places to eat vegan food! Hurrah! Also, you have to be really carefully when eating in non-veggie places coz apparently pork sprinklings are commonplace (according to the 'Rough Guide to Berlin') Have a good time!

Germany is full of food nuts of all kinds, so you should have little trouble in Berlin.

You should be fine, i suspect it has all the vegetarian availabilities as any other developed country; although, when we have the German markets in our city i am blown away by the amount and variety of meat being sold. *Shudders*

Nearly every restaurant in Berlin serves at least one kind of salad or similar stuff without meat. Especially indian, Thai, Vietnamese, arab and turkish restaurants serve many different kinds of vegetarian dishes and some restaurants in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg, Charlottenburg and Friedrichshain are specialized in veggie-food.

Many "real" German restaurants would have one or two vegetarian dishes on the menu, which is usually a noodle and/or potato dish, but most would cater to vegetarians at least with this one dish. Turkish might be a bigger problem, but you can find vegetarian dishes there, too, if you really try.
