  1. Oh wow I was twelve when I stopped eating meat too!  As a twelve year old I wasnt into  the whole lettuce and salad thing but I just loved the Morningstar  Farms burgers and chicken patties...I think they may be soy now that I think about it but they dont taste bad (I have since began eating meat again and still crave them now and then).  I dont know how you feel about veggies but its really the best thing for you to eat.  I loved broccoli and carrots and eventually learned to like other veggies like salad.  Humus dip and pita bread was good.  Garbanzo beans (you can buy them in a can) were different every now and then.  I really liked vegetarian baked beans..still do.  Homemade vegetable soup (to make sure its really doesnt have meat in it).  Homemade bean burritos(again, to make sure theres no meat byproducts in the beans)..anyways hope it helped...oh, and veggie spaghetti!..I got so tired of the veggies but eating "regular" things that I was always used to eating, just made a little different really helped me stick with it for as long as I did.  Good luck!

Oh and like someone above me said..make sure you get all the vitamins and other nutrients your body needs..you could look into taking a multivitamin just in case you end up lacking in some department.

  2. There are some foods that are already vegan without thinking about it. Check out this site: http://www.peta.org/accidentallyVegan/ It contains lists of foods that you may not think of as vegan, but they are.  Just be careful and read labels so that you don't consume foods with too much sugar, salt, or other junk in them. Good luck. :-)

  3. Here is a small list of foods that vegetarians eat.

Vegetarians do not eat animals and that would include cows, chickens, fish, shrimp and clams.

If you don't already know why most vegetarians make the choice, Earthlings could offer a thorough understanding.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily offer everything that you need except B12.

All vegetarians should take a B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yet still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended.

It may help you if you see proof that vegetarian people have the same potential as anyone else.

If you need meat or dairy during any stage of your life or to live any certain lifestyle, why does the American Dietetic Association say otherwise?

  4. Just make sure you don't fill up on junk, because that's easy to do when you first become a vegetarian. Tofu is actually pretty good..it tastes like whatever you cook it with. There are also a lot of great products like corn dogs, chicken fingers, burgers, etc made of (I know) soy, but you get used to it. Your so young and still growing so it's important to get all the nutrients you need. (God, I sound Old!)
