  1. it shouldnt be hard if you really want to do it. why do you want to become vegetarian? and what are you finding difficult about it?

  2. 1) Identify why you want to be vegetarian. Is it for animal rights/ethical reasons? Health reasons? Enviromental/resource reasons?

    2) Research the area that interests you. Peta has some good resources, as well as many books that you can find (if you're lucky) at the library, or else on Amazon.

    3) Create meal plan for at least a week. Get recipes that are similar to things you eat now. If you love stirfries, make them, but use tofu instead. If you like chili make vegetarian chili either with TVP or beans. Make sandwiches with lots of yummy veggies and condiments like hummus instead of meat.

    4) Inform those closest to you. Especially whoever you live with. Tell them why this is important to you, and that you don't expect them to join you but you want their support.

Good luck! It's so rewarding once you get the hang of it.

  3. Contact : Healthy Planet.org they will explain it better than anyone on here y/a.

  4. start eating vegetables like celery twice every hour

  5. Being vegetarian definitely isn't hard as long as you don't get ahead of yourself.

The simplest things such as bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies are all that you need for balanced and complete nutrition.

  6. start out with fruits like sweet mango and peach. slowly make your way forward, until you can eat veggies and dip as a snack! congrats! your a full blown veg-head! lol!

  7. Here are a few things you can try:

    - Try eliminating one meat product at a time. If you can eliminate all meat at once, then do just one such as no fish for 2 weeks and then no chicken for the next 3 weeks and so on...

    - Read lots of books on Vegetarianism:  This will help keep you inform on animal liberation issues and you can get lots of great ideas for recipes.

    - Experiment with different fruits and vegetables and spices so that you'll have more variety in your diet.

    - Don't listen to negative people!!!! Misery loves company and folks will try to talk you out of becoming a vegetarian!

    - Look for vegetarian restaurants in your area. You'll probably be more apt to stick to a vegetarian diet if you know where you can go to eat in advance.

    - Also use the internet to your advantage! There are tons of info out there on becoming a vegetarian!

I've been a vegetarian for 15 years! Good luck to you.

  8. Ok well i found it really hard at first too. I think it's just a matter of visualising these poor creatures being slaughterd. Its an awfull way but tbh it works and u will feel alot better once becoming a vegetarian and slightly less angry.

  9. I have been veg for about 3 months now, and when i first started I ate a ton of the veggie meat replacements. The morningstar farms brand is very good. It can be found in the frozen section. Also, try buying already veg food. There is so much you probably already eat that you don't realize is veg. Just read the labels. You will be reading a LOT of labels. Good luck!

    www.vegweb.com is excellent too.

  10. Understanding the reasons to be a vegetarian, feeling the better health.

Read "Get Healthy Now", by Gary Null.

  11. i've been a vegetarian for 7 years and i'm 16 now. if you really want to be a vegetarian, look videos up on peta on stuff like that and i GUARANTEE  you will never eat meat again.

  12. if it's because of the meat that's hard then use veggie meat instead of real meat.

  13. veg for 2 months now and it is SO easy and the food is absolutely amazing.  i highly recommend the frozen food products "Amy's" completely vegetarian.  If you have a whole foods near you, start shopping for food there, they have so many vegetarian options.  or even mess around with some amazing recipes, try googling blogs, there are millions for vegetarians.  also, go to peta.org, watch some videos and you'll never look back!!!! :) good luck

  14. eat a pastrami burger

    get angus beef for lunch

    go to mcdonalds everyday

    eat tacos for dinner snack

grow your cattle on your backyard

  15. just think about how gross it is to be eating a living thing's corpse.  it's so disgusting.  Their rotting decomposing flesh.  There's nothing "fresh" about meat, it's a dead thing.  It was once living and was killed so you could ingest it even though you're stomach is not made to digest meat like actual carnivore's stomachs are.

Also, drive by a slaughter house or something, it smells absolutely disgusting.  Also, have you ever seen those trucks shipping animals around and the cows or pigs are peeking out at you?

sorry this is a little overboard...i had a hard time committing to vegetarianism though too.

also try googling things like "cute baby pigs" or cute baby cows or cute baby chickens, that'll definitely help.

Also, don't try meat substitutes until you've stuck to being a veg for a while.  eat beans and nuts and seeds and pasta and  tomato sauce, yum.  also bean burritos and mexican pizzas minus the meat at taco bell haha

  16. Don't feel like you have to 100% stick with it.  I 95% stick to being a vegetarian.  There are just some instances where you get a craving, eating dinner with family, etc that you must eat meat.  It doesn't make you a bad person to not be perfect about it.

If you are craving meat super bad...just eat it because it probably means your body is craving a nutrient that is in it.
