  1. I was once a teenager and a vegetarian. I had little money, little kitchen time, and few cooking skills.

My staple was basic spaghetti. Over time I learned some tricks to make it taste much, much better, and so I will share it here.

Upgrade from dry pasta in a box to fresh pasta, found in the refrigerator section of your grocer. It costs a little more, but oh my God it is so worth it. Later, I actually got a pasta maker for Christmas, and then I would make several pounds and freeze it in individual portions.

You can upgrade the tomato sauce, too. First, you can use store-bought, but I'd recommend avoiding any that contain tomato paste--they taste kind of sour to me. The ones that are only made of tomatoes or tomato sauce are a little more runny in the jar, but they taste much better. They taste even better if you toss in a couple diced roma tomatoes, chopped  green peppers, and/or mushrooms.

With these simple upgrades, my cheap and easy staple dish got much tastier! Good luck!

  2. spagetti sauce with spinahce. You would be surprised at how good it is.

ooo.. pesto noddles. Just soft cooked noodles, add 1/8 of a cup of milk then add alot of pesto (also made from a vegitable) and maybe some seasonings.

it tastes like your at an italian restuarnt. plus its quick

Also, it's completely optional, but I like to make my own whole wheat tortillas when I make this.  It makes it healthier and tastes better, I think.    It's easy.  This is the recipe I follow for them:  http://www.asksasha.com/Healthy-Cooking/...

  4. homemade deli sandwiches are amazing :)

    scrambled eggs

    smoothie

  5. hey i recently became vegetarian and i have lots of friends who are. we have all found that meat sumpliments are very good the quorn stuff especially and cheese as well. you can find lots of tofu free recipese on different websites. just google it.

hope this helps. sorry if it doesnt.

  6. I agree tofu is not that good. Here are a few things I make for myself:

    Bean Salad:

combine one can black beans, one can garbanzo beans, half can whole beets(cut up),and two baby cucumbers(also cut up). Keep in sealed container for about 1 and a half weeks.

Each time you grab a helping drizzle with balsamic vinegar and sprinkle with feta cheese. Yum!

You can make pasta and add some sauteed veggies. Quesidillas with tomato and black beans. The possibilites are endless. Look up some yummy recipies at kraftfoods.com and seach vegetarian.

  7. baked beans hava lot of protein. have a yoghurt, fruit and a packet of nuts for lunch. for dinner have carrots with cabbage, brocolli, spinach and a mashed potato with a veg burger if ya like, very good for you.

  8. Dinner chicken tacos with ground chicken with all of your favorite taco vegetables on top with some french fries and corn on the side. i am a 15 year old vegetarian. go teen veg.

  9. complete protien is 20 amino acids that are all accounted for

    principle

to get a complete protien you need beans + grains or

grains + seeds or nuts or

    seeds or nuts + beans

the symple complex is rice and beans

soy such as tofu or soy beans fried with bread

i am working on the project of makeing symple complex recipes such as grumbles

    2 cup of bulgar wheat

    1/2 cup of pecan meal

    4 cups water

    1 tsp onion powder

    and 1/4 tsp garlic powder

puree 2 cups water and seasonings in blender till smooth.

cook bulgar wheat in the second 2 cups of water twenty minutes and add the pecan meal and seasonings cook till it thickens

spread on cookie sheet and dry overnight

cool and freeze till ready to use.

take 1 cup of grumbles and 2 cups tomato sauce and mix heat and you have sloppy joe grumbles in 10 minutes. i usually add diced onions to the sauce for texture and flavor.

    put on bread and eat

but the quick protien would be

a handful of nuts and a slice of 100% wheat bread
