I'm a vegetarian, and I need to gain more weight. I eat almost 24/7 (my mom buys anything organic) but nothing ever gets put on!! I am 5'2" and weigh about 77 pounds. Is there anything I can eat to be in the normal range? Btw, for someone with my weight and height, how many grams of protein should I have a day. I've really been focusing on foods with proteins when I eat. Thanks!

  1. Avocados, nut, tofu, coconut.

Liquid calories are easiest because you don't feel as full. A juicer is useful.

  2. Sweetie, you should see your doctor at 5'2" and 77 pounds your to thin. If your really eating 24/7, something other then your diet is the problem.

  3. yes proteins would be the best way. don't soy products have alot of protein?

    =]

  4. You may just have high metabolism.  Try eating more things like whole wheat bagels and bread.

  5. Protein is important, but usually eating more protein doesn't make you gain lots of weight.  In addition to thinking about protein, be sure to include a good amount of healthy fat in your diet.  Eat nuts, cook with olive oil or drizzle it on your veggies and salads, add avacado to sandwiches and salads,

If you eat cheese, that's a good source of protein and fat.  While it's not a super healthy type of fat, cheese has a lot of other nutrients going on so it's okay to eat in moderation.

  6. There is a great vegan protein shake you can buy called, "Peaceful Planet High Energy Protein Shake".  You  could drink one between meals with a snack, and/or with your meals.  It would add a significant amount of protein to your diet, and in turn could increase your weight.

  7. since you're a vegetarian and not vegan, try increasing your dairy intake.  also try to add carbs and healthy fats from nuts and seeds.  good for you for wanting to be healthy =)

  8. Eat lots of nuts! They are high in protein, fat, and are good for you.

  9. Instead of trying to shove carbs and calories in your body, I would excersise and gain muscle. Maybe try gymnastics or dance ( Im a dancer and dancing makes you gain muscle very easliy because your moving your legs around so much you quickly gaining muscle and your barley realize it.

Muscle weighs more than fat, so you will gain muscle, weight, and still be healthy ( actually more healthy ) if you gain muscle instead of fat. Fat will slow you down.

A healthy weight for your height would be about 100-115 pounds. good luck:)
