  1. I've been a veggie for years! Honestly i can say we get most of the good food anyway, pasta, pizza (obviously not peperoni), salad. Now Vegan would be hard, imagine no milk or eggs or CHEESE! AHH!

As for protein Beans have lots of protein as well as the things you listed. Protein's important so eat all that stuff, just because it's not meat doesn't make it less proteiny-ish. What's the most annoying is people who think meat is the only protein, cheer yourself by remining yourself they're just ignorant! Remember that people used to think you could fall off the edge of the world, look who's laughing now!

  2. I've been vegan for a long time and I enjoy it.

It goes along with my morals and reasonings for good health etc.  It has also spurred me to look around at foods from other countries, cultures, etc. and a whole new world of food has been open to me ever since.

  3. being veg is ok, but its not really helping anything, tha same amount of animals are still getting killed, duh.

ppl should be donating $ to charities fer animals, and doing stuff like that cuz then yew'd actually REALLY be helping.

& some ppl dont eat healthy when theyre vegetarian so they actually are UNhealthy.

but if yew eat nuts, eggs, protein foods, then yewr ok.

  4. My littlest one is now 13. Our whole family has been vegan for 5 years now, and 2 years veggie before that. It was really hard for me as a mother to find things for them to eat, but I have really learned to cook up something in an hour! They are all healthy and growing well. I do supplement their diet with vitamin B12, vitamin D in the winter mostly, and a new one called V-pure that is algae oil with EPA and DHA for their developing brains. They also eat seaweeds for iron and iodine (we eat sea salt that contains no iodine), and EFA (essential fatty acids) like flaxseed oil and a mixture of black walnut oil, sesame seed oil, hazelnut oil, and apricot kernal oil.

My kids do have a problem at school with their peers. They are teased alot. Some seem to think that just because we are vegans that we are hippies. Or just some kind of freaks. They get so tired of hearing that being vegan is not healthy and they just sigh. They have been vegan for five years and are healthy! They do not eat any junkfood at all (there is no pop/soda even in the house, unless we make it ourselves), and I make sure they get all their nutritional requirements with vegetables and grains and fruits and the supplements I said above. It is hard with all the preconceived notions of vegans in society in the US, unless you have your own community to support you in your veganism/vegetarianism.

  5. im so happy that i was able to realize how cruel the meat industry is and i am so happy to not be supporting it. today i saw a truck with about 15 scared and defenseless cows. they all looked so sad. i wanted to get them out of that truck so badly. it was a bitter reminder of why i am a vegetarian and why others should be.

  6. I think it's awesome that you decided to go veg so young!! I think I was 13 (14?) when I made the switch, and I haven't looked back. You're lucky that your mom is so supportive. I had it lucky, too, but a lot of parents aren't nearly as understanding. :[

  7. I believe that it can be and is a healthy approach to eating.  One has to be aware of what they are eating and make sensible choices.

It isn't difficult.  You eat pretty much the same things you did prior to being vegetarian - just more of other things to make up for the protein that your not getting from meat - which isn't hard.

The down side is that many think that they are eating 'vegetarian/vegan' - but are really only eating junk food and use the title as an excuse to indulge in a poor diet - which reflects badly on all that are not doing such - - have you ever noticed how someone can pick out that one person that is a total oddball, totally doing everything wrong, but because they are outspoken - they think 'all' are like the title that they claim??

Anyway - all in all - can be a very healthy choice.  I always suggest to people to talk to their doctor about the changes that they are thinking of making - to make sure that the changes that they are making is not going to have a negative effect - example being because of turning vegetarian/vegan, they now are eating things that they more than likely were not eating alot of before - and it might have a reaction with a medication that someone is on - grapefruit comes to mind because it has a negative effect with many medications.  Wasn't a problem before - because they weren't eating it before - but with the change, they now are - and there are side effects showing up that they haven't considered.

Other than that - I see no negatives at all - and even that isn't a 'negative' - more of a 'heads up' and becoming more aware of what one is putting in their body.

  8. its better for the enviroment, it really is. but i like my meat.

    bacon!

  9. I love being a vegetarian! I feel so healthy and pure! I'm your age, and I just started being one. I hope I can be one for as long as I live. I think more people should try it, so many celebs are doing it these days.

  10. I tried being a vegetarian, but sadly, it didn't last too long. My mother got really angry at me saying, "We can't afford to support your choices!" They [mom and dad] are big meat eaters, and my parents didn't want to waste food, so they practically forced me to eat it by making me feel bad about it. I hate meat, and I think it taste horrible and like a big hunk of fat and i when always i eat it it grosses me out thinking about the animals. I'm thinking about trying it again, even though my parents are making steak tonight :(

  11. I'm a veggie too.

and I'm happy with what I'm doing.

  12. yaya veggie people! like me!

  13. Go for it

  14. i have no life without animals. they are my life im an animal rights activist.

i say that being vegetarian has made me better, im in better shape,im helping animals and the planet, and i dont have to worry about the many desieses you can get from eating meat.
