  1. I've been an ovo-lacto vegetarian for seven years, and I never had to take any special steps for my diet. I've been very healthy and able to play competitive sports and spar in taekwondo, so I can tell you not to be scared of being weak or unhealthy as a vegetarian! In fact you may be much healthier - I lost 5 pounds I didn't even know I was carrying around on my body.

    1. As long as you eat fruits and vegetables, you should def. be able to get enough of these, no prob. If you're worried you can always take a daily multi. Your doctor can tell you if you need to worry about this.

    2. The average American already gets 3 or 4 times as much protein as they need on a daily basis. Have you ever heard of someone with a severe protein deficiency? You should have no problem getting enough on a daily basis. Beans, tofu, eggs, milk, soymilk, peanut butter, almonds are all foods with lots of protein.

    3. Simple. Eat slowly, chew a lot, and stop when you're full. You'll actually end up getting to eat a lot more food because vegetables are so much lower in calories than meat is, so you can eat a high volume of food.

Good luck! Welcome to the world of vegetarianism.

  2. The cool thing about being a vegetarian is that your dietary needs don't change a bit! I don't know your age/height/weight, etc, so you'll need to do that research yourself.

If you're eating a well-balanced diet, you need nothing supplemental. If you're concerned, take a multivitamin. It won't hurt. The B vitamins are the ones that are most likely to be missing in your diet, but with enriched foods you probably don't have much to worry about.

You won't overeat if you listen to your body. (Easier said than done, right?) Don't eat when you're not hungry.

  3. No need to worry about protein defficency or any vitamin defficency  if you eat a steady balanced diet of fruits, dark greens, veggies especially the orange and red ones, seeds, sprouts and beans.   You can get B vitamins from  alfalfa, kelp, locust bean gum and honey!     I am a vegetarian  I eat a few eggs.  I gained weight becoming a vegetarian!
