  1. i have been vegetarian for nine years and i have seen lots imporovments in my body

  2. Yes, it is really healthy.  I am a vegan and I wouldn't be one if it weren't healthy.  The only reason it would be healthy is if you didn't have enough protein and I do.

  3. i have been a vegetarian for the past 45 years and I do not have any problem.

vegetarianism is good for health as you need not take a un-healthy meat even by mistake, as some animals die due to diseases.

human body is designed for vegetarian diet.  Non availability of vegetarion in cold countries made them non-vegetarians

there can definitely be no health problems in being vegetarian.

    large animals are always vegetarian

  4. of course it is gaara

as long as you take care of your health and replace all the vitamins and minerals you are now losing out on

ive been vege for going on 17 years, im alright, i had some problems but that was purely because i was NOT taking those things and not taking care of myself

it can cause a few things, lack of iron, lack of vitamin

but as long as you take them in supplement form, or,  eat loads of fruit veges and nuts and seeds, you do ok

and as long as you keep your eyes on your health monitor any changes, you shoudl catch any problems early enough before they become bad

    your welcome

    ;-)

  5. Adolf Hitler and its n***s made researches: Human beings only eating animals food died after quite short period, human beings only eating vegetable stuff survived or kept alive. Health got not bad.

  6. Vegetarian, probably not.  Any diet that is lacking in required nutrients, meat or vege, can and probably will.

  7. you have to make shore you get your vitamans from somewhere else

  8. I know it is alright...but where do the vegetarians get the proteins?

  9. I`ve been veg since March 2003...doing well,no problems at all...

  10. hey! Good Morning!  for me it has saved my life & for my hubby too.  we have both been veggies for more than 30 yrs.  for him  some 20 or so yrs ago he was diagnosed with two kinds of cancer from chemicals he worked with - after the surgery the Docs had him on meds that made him more sick than cancers - he got rid of then & the docs said he would never see his 50 bday - he is 54 & he is at work.  for me when hubby and i met he told me i could improve my health & get rid of asthma if i totally changed to veggie - i was already headed into being a veggie and that clinched it.  well here i am to tell you about it - my docs say if i had continued the average "American Diet" due to bad genes i would be dead - heart failure - now because of genes i am over 50 and just now starting to experience health issues.  the docs said i would have had a stroke or worse.  so for us - oh and our 4 boys & 2 girls & one grand-son it is the more healthy choice.

if some one is not well educated how to properly nourish themselves when choosing to be a veggie it could cause some health issues, the key to healthy veggieness is education.  have an absoultely fabulas day!  :)  a veggie Mom

  11. Vegetarians have the same potential as anyone else.

Bread, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies can easily provide everything that we need except B12.

All vegetarians should take a vegetarian B12 supplement regularly since most people eat meat, dairy AND fortified cereals yeat still have a B12 status that is lower than recommended.

  12. It can, but that's only if you don't like to try a bunch of different things.

If you only eat one kind of vegetable or fruit, then, yea, you will probably have some sort of health problem.

Vegetarians actually live longer and healthier than meat-eaters. Studies have shown that vegetarians aren't likely to have cancer, ischemic heart disease, and other fatal diseases. Red meat can cause these things and cancers of lung, liver, and more.

So, yes, it is really healthy to not eat meat, but only if you have a varied diet and eat what you need to eat.

  13. I'm doing ok.

  14. A well-planned vegetarian diet not only is healthy and provides all essential nutrients, it can be far healthier than the standard meat-eating diet.  Vegetarians have lower instances of many of the so-called "diseases of affluence."  We suffer less cardiovascular disease, fewer heart attacks and strokes, less hypertension, fewer problems with elevated cholesterol, less kidney disease, less type II diabetes, less prostate cancer, less colon cancer and statistically, we live 6-10 years longer.

  15. You *can* eat a healthy diet without meat, fish, or poultry, but if you just keep eating like you were except for eliminating all meat, you won't be getting enough protein.

Vegetarians have to educate themselves about nutrition or they can end up with illnesses that used to exist only among the impoverished and sailors at sea too long, like rickets and scurvy.

  16. It can be, just as a diet that includes meat can be. Both can be unhealthy too; it depends on the individual and what they eat.

No, being a vegetarian doesn't, of itself, cause health problems and many vegetarians are very healthy.

I went vegetarian in my teens; I'm now in my fifties and a vegan. I have enjoyed good health for most of my life; the only major health problem I've had - and it was major - was something random that affects veg*ns and meat-eaters alike.

    =====================

Edit** Momo-ness - meat has not been shown to cause any cancers; the causes of most cancers are not known, and there is no food proven to cause cancer (or to affect its progress in any way, good or bad). Cancer specialists are prepared to say that a diet HIGH in meat MAY contribute to the development of colorectal cancers, and in few other cancers it is thought that diet MAY be a risk factor - for example, it's thought - though not proven - that a diet high in dairy products MAY be a risk factor for prostate cancer. There are no recognised or suspected dietary risk factors for lung or liver cancer.

I'm vegan, and of course I think a veg*n diet can be extremely healthy; but we do ourselves no favours by repeating unproven and unsubstantiated hearsay about the health benefits of veg*nism. 'Studies show' isn't good enough - studies are just studies, not proof - especially when links to the studies arent provided

  17. Being a vegetarian is great.

You feel purer and happier because you are being a kind and caring person and fighting against the murders of many innocent animals everyday.

You dont see many fat vegetarians do you?

Vegetarians are much healthier because they tend to eat more fruit and vegetables.

You cannot eat fast food because there are hardly no vegetarian options so you have more energy.

Yes you may feel a little run down sometimes but I'd rather die than let an animal die for me. Okay that might sound stupid. But i really care that much.

  18. Not a veg, but a vegetarian diet can be healthy if care is taken and animal products like eggs and dairy are eaten regularly. However it is much easier for the human body to get the nutrition it needs from meat and fish.

To venkat_221111, you are very mistaken if you think the human body is adapted to eat a vegetarian diet. Aside from fruit and some root vegetables, most plants are indigestable to humans. And a plant-only diet is deficient.

When proto-humans left the jungle and stepped on to the grasslands, there was little besides animals and root vegetables for them to eat. As humans ate more meat, their brains got larger and humans became better hunters. The fossil and archaeological record prove it.

  19. Is avoiding all the cholesterol found in meat healthy? Meat is only part of the protein food group. Almost all foods contain protein, so vegetarians replace meat protein with: beans peas, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. Lacto-ove vegetarians get protein from eggs and dairy too.
