Wheter you have a Dog Cat or anything else that is accustomed to being a natural meat eater is it wise to make them vegetarian/vegan?

I understand natural and organic but how do you make your pet go veggie?

What about if you got a Cat or Dog from the humane society and they were raised to eat stuff you have no idea about is it wise to make them go veggie?

People with personal experices please help me out.

  1. Flat out, my great danes and cats -eat meat-. I actually give my big boy a steak every so often, just for himself. Or I cook a chicken up and split it between the danes and the cats.

They are CARNIVORES. It's idiotic to give them vegan diets. It's like giving a lion tofu.

  2. My dog specifically needs a high-protein diet (it's a breed-specific issue); if I gave him veggie food he'd die.

So no chance.  My boy gets plenty of protein and some lean meat.

If anything, he'd function well on a lo-carb diet.

  3. I am a Raw Vegan but my Dog is on a more mixed diet.  I make her food it's animal & veggie based, with each meal she gets raw fruits of veggies as well.

She(Boxer/Lab Mix) is 10+ and is in wonderful health

  4. When everyone be abstained from meat by the year 2021, the livestock industry will deplete all together, but would you OK with that? That is our mission, right?

Eventually we have to live like a vegan, not depending on the livestock at all.

  5. i don't think so...thats what they were raised as and its hard to change someone's lifestyle, especially if they're an animal and they don't understand :)

  6. well there's the rub..guess what you were both to made to eat meat..like it or not..Animals with incisors need meat, the complexity of their physiology requires them to consume meat protein..and guess what so does yours.
