If I had kids I wouldn't want them to eat meat, because I think a vegetarian lifestyle is better in my opinion

but I'd also would want to let my kids make their own decisions..

What do you feed your kids?

  1. If I was married to a vegetarian I would like to raise my children on the same diet. But if my husband wasn't, I would not get in the way of them eating meat. But basically you are not going to catch me cooking meat.

  2. I'm a vegetarian but my husband and little girl are not, when cooking I make sure we all will be happy.

  3. I, too, believe in giving kids choices, but only when they are of an age to understand the consequences of those choices.  I have always fed my daughter healthy foods, and when she was about 6, I gave her the BASIC facts about meat, and let her make her own decision.  She chose vegetarian, and has been thriving on it ever since-she is now almost 14.  Every year, I have a blood profile done on her to make sure her nutritional needs are being met.  That profile always comes back "above average".  Its all a matter of research, and making sure she eats a wide variety of healthy foods that nourish her growing body.  She is much healthier than her omnivore friends, and has no acne, weight issues, or any of the other problems that are common for her age group.  She has healthy, shiny hair, glowing skin and nails, and is tall and lean.  If she chose to eat meat, I would prepare it for her-but only from a trusted source that has free range meats free from the antibiotics, growth hormones, steroids and other medications given to farmed animals for meat.  She has no interest in meat at all, but I would support her decision to eat it if she chose to.   I feed her strictly organic foods, and raw milk straight from our cows.  I make butter, yogurt, kefir and cheese, which are a large part of her diet.  She eats free range, organic eggs from our hens, and a wide variety of fruits, beans, legumes, pulses, vegetables, and grains, many of which we grow ourselves.  She is proud of the fact that she KNOWS where her food comes from, and that because of that, she can make good choices.

  4. Just feed them vegan until they're old enough to choose, and if they decide do eat dead, rotting, flesh, they will. But, since most babies HATE the taste of meat when you first try feeding it to them, I don't think a kid would decide to become a meat-eater.  Kids love boca burgers, seitan nuggets, and veggies with hummus.

  5. At home my kids eat what my husband and I eat, which is a balanced vegan diet.  At school my son prefers to eat the school lunches, which often contain animal ingredients.

I don't like animal products to enter my house, but if my kids request something specifically I will give in.  I let them make their own decisions.

My kids also still like Wendy's kids meals on the way to Karate.  We don't mind getting them for our boys.

My 4-year-old son takes the meat out of his sandwiches at preschool and usually chooses fruits and vegetables over animal products.

We were at the grocery store today buying soy milk in the milk section.  There was a picture of a cow on the one milk container and my 4-year-old said "Ewww...Is that cow milk?  Cow milk for baby cows?"  It was cute :)

  6. I don't have kids yet, but my belief is they should not be given meat until they are old enough to understand what it is.  At that point, they will also be used to a veg*n diet, and realize that eating meat is not a necessity.

I have a feeling most people eat meat not because they think it's a great idea, but because that's the way they were raised and they don't feel strongly enough about it to change.

  7. fruit ,soy beans,vegies, fish

  8. They can eat whatever they want outside the house but they'll be eating vegan at home.

Growing up vegan should make it even easier and knowing the horrors at a young age should hopefully give them enough motivation to stay with it.

  9. im guessing they feed there kids carrottes
