  1. Hey-ho!  I am a vegetarian and nothing like that has ever happened to me.  As long as you take the right supplements you will be fine.  Your Dad just wants what best for you.  There are many healthy vegetarians in the world to prove it!  Take Care and Good luck x

  2. No, that's not what happened to me.  Your dad...god, I don't even know where to start... *facepalm*

  3. Umm, no!  I think he is just trying to scare you because he doesn't want you to become vegetarian.

  4. i am a vegan and very vibrant and full of life.  The most important thing to do is make sure you get enough protein and be sure to take multi-vitamins with vitamin B-12 in it.  Being B-12 deficient is common in vegs/vegans.  good luck, and don't listen to him.  It is your choice, your body, and a great decision for you and the planet.  Congrats

  5. nooo, I know fat and tan vegetarians!  haha, but seriously, no, you will not.  Just make sure you are eating a varied diet and not the same thing everyday.

My dad said stuff like that to me too :)  Like, when I broke my finger I was going to have to get it amputated, or when I had a small case of scoliosis I was going to have to get drills in my head for a brace...etc etc

  6. your dad is so wrong!!!! hes just trying to scare you, i know vegetarians who are fat!!! I mean think about you can still have all the junk food in the world!!!! Just because you don't have meat does not mean you are going to be skinny!!! Unless you eat nothing!!lol. Trust me if you really want to prove your dad wrong, it says that there is still a percentage of vegans that are fat, ecspially vegetarians because some just live on junk food and carbs an peta's guide book to being vegetarian/vegan and you can get it in the mail for free just go to:http://www.peta2.com/p2vsk2_flash/ on page 8!!! But if you want to be healthy and not extemely skinny or become fat, check out the vegan food pyramid on Google.com and just other websites!!! Don't be unhealthy, I'm just trying to prove your dad wrong, i had to go through the same thing with my mom!!... GOOD LUCK!!!! And your own doctor can prove your dad wrong that at any age you can go healthy vegan/ vegetarian!!!

  7. No!

Im a vegetarian, and so is my sister, and trust me, we are no where near thin or pale.  He just doesn't want you to be a vegetarian, just do what feels right to you.

I have actually gained more weight since becoming vegetarian.. its not a good thing but im probably not the healthiest eater either..

Anyways just do what feels right for you, don't listen to anyone else.

  8. Hey, don't worry! I've been vegetarian for 19 years and I'm not pale or thin! Check out this website:

    http://www.happycow.net/famous_vegetaria...

it lists hundreds of famous vegetarians and vegans, you'll be able to see for yourself (and so will your dad) that they're not pale and sickly! Look up your dad's favourite stars and singers, find out which ones are veggie and you have a comeback for his arguments! Good luck!

  9. Depends on what you eat and how much you eat. Your Dad is correct if you do it wrong. Vegetarian means you don't eat meat period. It does not imply anything beyond that.

If you have done your research before becaming a vegetarian, you would have known the facts that make it a healthy diet. You asking this sort of question makes me think you did not think this one out well.

  10. There are many vegetarians in the world. Including some well know celebs. Eating fruits and vegetables is essential to a healthy life. So no, you will not turn pale or grossly thin by becoming vegetarian. If anything, your skin will radiate and you will be in the best health ever.

  11. You might lose weight. It depends on how many calories you're taking in versus how many you're burning. You might get pale. Again, how's your diet? You won't totally change skin tone, but there is an adjustment period.

If you want to be sure that you don't have the crazy effects, just be sure that you're getting enough fat, protein, and iron. You might wind up eating a lot of eggs and cheese at first (this isn't a good habit to get into, but hey, transitions are transitions), but you shouldn't have too many problems. Just be sure that you're replacing the calories and other nutrients you got from meat with another source. (Lettuce is not an appropriate substitute for chicken... you should be eating legumes, etc.)

  12. Absolutely not.  I'm much healthier now than I've ever been and I've only been a veg for just under a year.  I think our folks just worry about us sometimes when we do things that they're not familiar with.

Go to http://www.peta.org/ for details about how to eat healthy and for some very important facts about why you shouldn't eat meat.  It's some nasty stuff!

  13. Your dad is wrong, you know it already don't you :-)
