Vegetarians..????

Ok so I just started going Vegetarian and i want to know what to eat and what not to eat since i just started im not that sure and i thought it was just red meat. but i found out u cant eat gelatin....so like can u just help maybe some websites....oh and maybe some good places to but vegetarian tees thanx

  1. Just dont eat meat thats all you have to do you can eat fruits or veggies basically anything that doesnt have meat


  2. Congrats on going vegetarian!  

    Allrecipes.com has some good recipes.

    You can't eat meat (obviously).  I recommend going lacto vegetarian (you can eat dairy products including cheese).  This way you have a much wider variety of foods to choose from.  Since I have been vegetarian (about a year) I have figured out that I benefit from eating small meals three times a day and snacks several times a day.

    Drink lots of water, about a glass and hour.  

    Take a vitamin and talk to a doctor to see what vitamins you are lacking and what vitamins you should take.

    Here are some snacks I enjoy:

    Granola!  Apple cinnamon is the best!  This is a great, healthy snack and most are LOADED with protein and fiber.

    Apples with cinnamon.  Healthy goodness!  What more could you ask for?

    Soft tortillas, small tiny ones, filled with cheese if you go with lacto-vegetarian, lettuce and other ingredients you enjoy.  This can be a snack or a meal.

    Peanut butter on a spoon.

    Nuts!  Pistachioes (I spelt that wrong) make a wonderful snack.

    You can snack on tortilla chips, cookies, crackers (but these aren't terribly healthy.

    Fresh fruit!  Cut up some fruit and curl up with a good book.  That will make anyone get in a good mood!

    Fresh veggies!  Celery with peanut butter.  Any combination you can think of will taste great, crunchy and fresh!

    Mini peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  Just cut some bread in half and make sandwiches.

    Bread!  Eat bread with butter (lacto- vegetarians only) or just bread, or bread with a preferred topping.

    Meals:

    Falafel!  This reminds me so much of meatballs it's crazy!  And they taste good, too!

    Annies Organic Macaroni and Cheese.  Okay, a little weird.  But it tastes like a slice of heaven in macaroni form!  I love this so much!  This is only if you go lacto- vegetarian.

    v8 fusion drinks!  These were recommended to me by the 1st person to answer your question and taste wonderful.  Thank you Joanne W.  for telling me about those awesome drinks.  Strawberry banana is my favortie.  They give you a full serving of fruits and vegetables.

  7. 1 thing be careful at resturants.

    most have chicken stock in there mashed potatoes and rice.

    and i dont eat anything fried that is in the same fryer as meat.

    btw if you eat any fish white meat you are not a vegetarian.

    the deffinition for vegetarian is one who does not eat meat.

    also red dye comes from beatles wings and green comes from another bgs wings.

    just learn to look at the back of everything.

    and do not trust wators when they say that fries or w/e are not fried with the meats.they always say no then later illl ask the manager and they will say yes.

    ok and alyssa vegetarians who eat geletin are not vegetarians.you still kill and totrure a animal for food.and thats just someone being lazy that doesnt want to check labels for geletan.and they would not be fully commited.

    and i did use morning star taste amazing.but i cant now most of there products contain milk and eggs and i am a vegan.

  8. Vegans don't eat any animal products which include gelatin.

    Vegetarianism is just not eating meat.

    Some combine aspects of both of these and decided for themselves what they believe is ok to eat.

    PETA is a great place to get vegan brands [including candy and baked goods...you'd be surprised at what you can eat], they also have recipes and tips for staying healthy.

    As far as clothing...PETA probably has something.

  9. you dont have to follow any "rules" when you go vegetarian. you should choose to go vegetarian because its the right thing to do or because you have some kind of belief. so if you believe you shouldnt eat anything made from animals then you shouldnt eat any meat but if you''re doing it because of anything else you should decide what you want to eat!

    you're obviously just becoming a vegetarian to become a vegetarian because people become vegetarians because they think its cruel so you should have known you couldnt eat allll meats. just eat whatever you want and stop pretending to be a vegetarian until you actually find out eating animals is extremely cruel.

  11. hey, i have been a vegiatarian for a year now and there are many types of vegetarians. I am an ovo-lacto-vegitarian which means i dont eat any type of meat but i still eat eggs and dairy products. Well, you may want to check these sites out

  14. Well You Can't Eat Any Animal Flesh To Be Considered A Vegetarian It's Something Totally Different If You Still Eat Fish And Chicken. You Can Have Organic Cheese Because the Regular Kind, Along With Sour Cream And Other Dairy Products, Has Enzymes In It Which Are Part Of A Cows Stomach. No Stocks Or Fats Except For Of Course Vegetable Kind.

    Gelatin Is Cow/Goat Hooves So Chyeahh That's Pretty Gross.

  15. As a vegetarian, all you cannot eat is meat (some would argue fish is/is not included in this).

    You can stick to the rest of your diet.

    Just replace meat with Tofu, which can be just as delicious once you get used to it.

  17. vegetarians can eat gelatin, but Vegans cant. vegetarians dont eat ANY meat at all, not just red meat. eat veggieburgers, salads, veggies, pasta, anything that doesnt have meat. try peta.org, they have vegetarian starter kits and really cute tees and veggie products.
