hey hey hey!

so this sunday will make three months of being a vegetarian. (not that long, i know..)

the last time i ate meat was april 20th.

i was never planning on this being a forever thing.. just a week or so. but that obviously changed.

so i kind of wanted to get back into eating meat, but the thought completely disgusts me!

how did you go back?

  1. it's not worth it, think about all of the health benefits you are recieving, and hey if thats not enough your eating a dead carcas.  would you eat a human, its the same thing isnt it.......DEAD meat.....there are way too many positives too being veg to go back.  and way too many amazing dishes to be made for veggies, to bother wanting a dish of dead skin bones fat and blood.

  2. Ive been a vegetarian for about 2 months and I'm NEVER going to go back to being an omnivore. Why would you want to force an animal back into your mouth and go back to believing in killing animals for food?

I know I'll never go back.

If you really need to go back, then start by eating fish, then chicken, then ( gulp ) red meat like hamburgers, steak, etc.

    Good luck...

  3. You don't.

Pick up some recipes, gain some culinary skills and enjoy yourself!  There's too much to gain by being a veggie eater to warrant ever going back to being a meat eater.

  4. After having been lifelong meat-eaters, my wife and I adopted a vegetarian diet when were both in our late twenties. We kept the vegetarian diet for nine years.

The switchback wasn't really that hard. We just gradually returned to eating favorites first (for me, it was shrimp, cheeseburgers, and pastrami!)

However, now that we've been eating meat again for about eight years or so, I find that I keep thinking about reverting to vegetarianism again. Fickle, I know.

I think we don't really move from being this kind of person to that kind of person all of sudden. Instead, diet is really just a behavior, not an identify, at least for us. Other people feel quite differently about that point, though!

  5. I've been vegetarian for 6ish months and have recently been craving meat after having no desire for it for a long time...so it kinda makes me think it may be what my body needs right now. I can't tell you how to go back though because I haven't because I don't want to listen to people tell me they knew I couldn't do it or anything. But...a month or so ago I had some vegetarian chicken at a restaurant, and it tasted and looked exactly like chicken, and it made me feel disgusting eating it...my dad paid for it, so I ate it...but the feeling in my mouth was really like weirder than I thought it would be.

  6. um i saw meat, got hungry and ate it.

look i dont like the way the animals are treated but if you think about it humans are omnivores we were ment to eat meat. and the animal is already dead im for the native american way though use all the animal so it didnt go in vain.

  7. I was the same as you but then I never wanted to go back..I was doing it for animals but I missed the taste sooo much but then I got so used to not eating meat & now Im glad because I do it for my beliefs of fighting for animals & I dont care for the taste anymore! therefore I win!

  8. Yup, after reading some article from vegetarian/vegan website and after 3 months being a vegetarian.

I find that the idea of eating meat is disgusting.

For me, I some time try the faked chicken meat, faked fish(made from tofu).

It taste very close to the real meat.

But some of my non-vegetarian friend said they don't like it.

They said they will womit if ask them to try it.

  9. Well, for breakfast I had grapefruit, granola with blueberries, and coffee. But by lunchtime I just had to have that salami and Roquefort on rye, so I backslid. And by dinnertime I was totally lost and not only had rare roast beef but had seconds as well.

  10. i turned vegeterian on the 8th of feb and all coz of a veal schnitzel thingy lol and i hav thought alot about going bak to eating meat but i cant coz all my family keeps saying she wont do it so im gunna prove them wrong and also i love animals and i hate thinking that im eating one =( everytime i think bout eating meat it makes me sick to think of eating a dead animal. try ur hardest not to go bak but if u cant anymore then just gradually go bak to eating it or just eat less =)

    hope that helped

  11. Wrong section to ask don't you think?  A vegetarian that goes back to meat doesn't make much sense since they aren't vegetarians if they did.  You want meat?  Then eat it.  This is your choice.

  12. Next month I'll have been a vegetarian for 2 years. At first, I REALLY missed eating meat, but the feeling goes away, I promise!

But if you really MUST go back to eating meat, I would phase it in slowly, white meats like chicken and fish first, leaving red meats for last. That way you have less a chance of getting sick.
