Vegetarians/veg@ns: which do you prefer?

Question

Do you prefer a more herbivore type pet like a rabbit or hamster or do you prefer carnivorous pets like dogs and cats? Or does it not really matter? Just curious! Me personally I like more herbivore type animals as pets, like my rabbit!

I love cats and have always been a cat person, but I have a toddler that would do nothing short of torturing the thing (she already chases my mom's cats and pulls their tails and hugs them too hard - she's only 18 months old and thinks they're living stuffed animals!). Also, I prefer to rent the place I live and I put money away to buy a house so most places don't allow pets at all. On top of it all, buying meat-based products doesn't sit well with me, even for a cat, so I will just enjoy my time around my mom's cats. Sadly my life isn't compatible with a cat in any way, which makes me sad.

Birds are pretty cool. I have 2 parakeets and a african gray parrot

From my point of view, I way prefer the herbivores, but I have nothing wrong with the carnivorous type pets. I won't change my preference of pets just because of something I choose.

i love pretty much every animal......i've had:

horses

dogs

cats

turtles

hamsters

lizards

cows

a pig

birds

etc. etc. etc.

not all at the same time, of course!

i guess that comes from having a veterinarian for a dad =)

it doesn't matter to me what they eat.  they're animals....i'll feed them what my vet (um, dad) suggests!
