  1. Extinction is a normal part of evolution.  In the life of planet earth, thousands of animal species have come and gone before we came along.  Eventually humans will become extinct as well.

I'd rather see the extinction of the domestic hog than see them be caged, tortured, mutilated, and murdered.

  2. forget pigs.....if HUMANS had to go through what factory farmed pigs go through we'd rather be extinct, too.  anyway, it's awfully silly to assume that humans are the only reasons that pigs are in existence today....there are thousands of animals that aren't consumed for meat and do just fine without our interference.

  3. I know I would rather not be born if I knew I would have to go through what the pigs people eat go through.

    Extinct.

  4. eaten...

  5. If I had the choice, I would rather the pig not be eaten and not be extinct.  The little baby pigs are really cute.  I have a pet pot belly pig named Eddison and he acts like a dog and follows me around and does tricks.  I dont want anyone to eat my pot belly pig, and I dont want him to be extinct either.

  6. Ask a pig.

  7. Considering how the vast majority of pigs are currently raised in modern industrialized agriculture, these animals would have been far better off never having been born. The best moment in these animals' lives is when they finally die, because only then does their suffering finally end.

It's funny how some meat-eaters claim that all farm animals would become extinct if we stopped eating them, while other meat-eaters say that farmed animals would overpopulate and take over the whole world. Which is it?

  8. Your basically asking if we rather them to die and suffer or die and suffer? What kind of question is that if there going to do the same thing? I suppose you should be asking which way will they suffer less? And thats probably going to be the extinct way depending how and what makes them extinct. For most people being veg means creating less suffering and there for choosing compassion. However considering that growing pigs for the purpose of eating and suffering durying there time alive is not compassionate then you are not being very compassionate by eating that pig. Ask yourself this would you rather humans be eaten or extinct?

  9. What does one have to do with another?  Question makes no sense.

OK: here ya go: Pigs like vegetables.

  10. Eaten by whom or what? Me? No thank you. My kids, definately, emphatically not. Extinct - like all of them? Even wild and undomesticated? Thats absurd. And there are so many species of pig - which one? Or, again, all of them?

  11. They will never become extinct. But i would rather have them be extinct than exploited.

  12. Heya

I would rather them be extinct. Pigs have no quality of life. They are shipped round from slaughter house to slaughter house and brutally killed. They live in filth. =] x*x

  13. That's a stupid choice.

Do elephants survive because people eat them?

  14. They won't overpopulate or become extinct... The pigs will have their revenge....

  15. I agree with the first answer: ask the pig

As for the notional suggestion  that pigs would rather  choose to be unborn than go through life, again, ask the pig.

If omnivores are to be lectured that they do not have the right  decide the life and death of the animal, then vegetarians should also be lectured that they do not have the sole right to decide who gets born or not.

To deny one a life is the moral equivalent of actually taking a life. Humans arrogantly deciding about what is not theirs. The only difference is that omnis for the most part don't pontificate about the virtues or morality of their choices. some of the vegetarians who posted here do. Telling others people what not to do while advocating it yourself is called ?

  16. they would be extint they will evolve to monster like....if people keep eating them in demand and  mostly about being reproduce (cloning) and raised in  an evil extreme way just for profit...

  17. I think you are probably suggesting that if we didn't rear pigs for food they would be exctinct.

If you hang around in this forum long enough, another person will say EXACTLY the opposite, that if we don't eat them we'll be overun with animals.

You should really get together with them and come up with a common story. Such opposite views lead me to believe you're not basing your population modelling on sound science.

Personally, i'd rather pigs were extinct than me eat them, but neither of those things are going to happen.

Its rather arogant of humans to think that we are needed to keep animal species going. In fact, its humans that have proven they are capable of destroying species, not saving them

  18. As long as the pigs don't get lose and in my yard - they can live across the field.

As to them being eaten - they won't be by me.  As to the choices others make - that is their personal choice.

I guess I am somewhat unique in that I don't desire to have everyone to fit within my own little views or personal choices.  I am not threatened by someone not having the same view.  If you doubt such - know that I am a Christian that used to eat meat once in awhile that was to marry a pagan who was not a strong vegetarian - but a vegetarian never the less.

You give only two choices - and seem to forget that those are not the only two.

The world is bigger than just the two choices you present.

  19. Extinct
