  1. if the only available food since the dawn of time was meat or animal derived, then vegetarians wouldn't even exist to answer this question. there would be no vegetarians if there were no "vegetables".(or plant foods)

PS i don't think suicide or starvation is vegetarian

  2. hm even though im not a vegan or vergetarian i'd eat it if i were

  3. starve.  i'm a big girl, i can handle it :D

  4. It's the survival of the fittest : To eat or to be eaten ! You better eat too !!!

  5. eat it but only because it's the only food left

  6. biologically  a world like this could not exist here on this earth.  and what i would do - well i will do everything i can to keep my Karma from landing me on a planet / world that is like the one you describe.  in doing so i would not have to worry about starving.  Hare Krishna  :)

  7. hmmm....hard question, i could not eat the food and then at least i would die knowing that i stuck up for what i believe in.

    OR

i could eat the food and still live on (Very much alive) but i would know of nothing else but meat so i wouldnt even know the term Vegan or Vegetarian cos there would only be meat and nothing else.

  8. i actually would rather starve, and have done before.

I have been in position where had no money, only thing in cupboard was i think like tin ham or something as my hubby isn't veggie.

I didn't eat for 3 days till i got money.

True vegetarians would starve rather than eat dead animals.

Especially as with me,if they are veggies for a conscience reason

  9. They would eat the food.

  10. I wood eat all of the food and get store fat

  11. * sigh *  - If there was only p**p to eat and you pooped yummy fudge, would you eat it?

Another silly question, another silly statement. As stated above, no plants - no animal products - we all die.

Albert Einstein once said without bees human kind has 4 years to live. Would you eat bees?

  12. this question is hugely flawed.

first off, if there are no plants for human consumption there are no plants for animal consumption.  result? no animals.

second, if a person tried to survive off of only meat they would become malnourished and die anyway.

third, most veg*ns would become very ill upon reintroducing meat into their diet, let alone eating exclusively meat.  when your body becomes unaccustomed to eating meat it can have a violent effect on your digestive system, causing vomiting, diarrhea, etc.  which would possibly cause dehydration and malnutrition (which can cause death anyway).

fourth, if the only food in existence were meat, vegetarians and vegans wouldn't exist and therefor this question would be moot.

lastly, if there were nothing to eat but meat we wouldn't live long enough into our lives to make a conscious choice like this....we would die as toddlers, at best.

i hope you didn't ask this question thinking that you were being original....we get asked things like this all the time.  i also hope you didn't ask this thinking that you'd get us to reevaluate our stance on not eating meat.....there's a reason these are called hypothetical.

  13. its a hypothetical question that cannot be answered unless you are in that situation. Who knows how our values are affected when it comes to life or death.

Its a bit like this one:

Would you ever consider becoming a prostitute ?

Most people would say no....but...when facing with a lorry containing 5 Billion dollars worth of gold and the client was George Clooney....for 2 hours work....maybe more people would change thier mind than would care to admit. Who can really say what they would do in that situation. Even those with a die-hard "no" might change thier mind when faced with the gold...owning a few islands in the Bahamas can do a lot to help forget 2 hours work.

If there was only animals for meat then we'd all die fairly quickly anyway - meat does not give you all the nutrients you need.

  14. I'd eat

  15. They would eat rather than die..by the way are the animals vegans or nonvegans..because if they are vegans and they eat the greenery so might the vegetarians!!

  16. if there wasent anything else then  the world would die off anyway... but yes i would... but then again i am strictly a "non-manufactered meat" veggitarian so i might not count

  17. I'm straight, but even I would do George Clooney for 5 billion in gold. Oh, sorry, that wasn't the question...

Ok, if it was just "meat" and other animal products left, I would opt for the other animal products - not sure what they would be though - but honey, honeycomb, propolis, beeswax, royal jelly, milk, yoghurt, cream, butter, cheese, kumiss, buttermilk, curds and whey spring to mind. I would almost consider eating (*yuk*) eggs and caviar as a last resort.

Seriously though, it's not a very well-thought-out hypothetical. If there were only animals left, THEY would have to eat each other to survive (there being no plants or algae or fungi left to eat - no need to tell you that, without plants, we are doomed anyway, because of a dearth of oxygen) - which would mean that these animals were either carnivores or omnivores to start off with - all the herbivores would have died off, with nothing left to eat (the hive and dairy products mentioned above, if they still existed, must have been stockpiled somewhere - because the continued production of both relies on the continued existence of plants) - and if the carnivores are eating each other, as well as being eaten by humans, then the supply of them for food is going to run out very quickly too, which will lead to the inevitable - humans eating hufu (all roads seem to lead to this in the end, unless we can come up with something entirely synthetic to eat, such as Kraft Singles and Continental Cup-a-Soup). That's the trouble with hypotheticals - or at least with the calibre of hypotheticals that are asked in this forum by non-veg*ns.

  18. How would that work. what would the animals eat!!

vegitarianism/veganism is about healthy eating and doing the minimum of harm to animals. I'd go for fungus all the time them Quorn/mushrooms.

  19. If there were no non-animal products we wouldn't be vegetarians, and would never have considered the issue.

But you'd find the people who are currently vege would either be those who protest for a better quality of life for their food, or those who would have to kill the meat themselves.

  20. Um, that would be almost impossible because the animals need to eat the veggies(especially corn...the god of veggies).

But its survival of the fittest. If there was no one else to eat but other humans, well, I think they would have no choice but turn to cannibalism.

  21. Animal products are dairy and eggs, so I could live off of that. You said that in your question. If you wanted me to say I would eat meat, you should have phrased it better.

But, animal products are eggs and dairy, both things I eat on a regular basis.

  22. If tomorrow morning I woke up and there were no plants left, period, just whatever animals and meat there currently are, we'll all die. What will we feed the animals we eat? They eat more plants than we do. Cows, pigs and chickens all eat a grain, soy and corn diet.

It would be pretty much the end of the world. What animals are left would starve to death within 14 days or sooner, and whatever meat there is that's already slaughtered, cleaned and prepared wouldn't last more than a month or two, and to implement a massive-scale rationing of the meat would do nothing because in the end that's all that is left anyway.

I would probably not eat the meat because not only is it completely unappetizing to me, but in the scenario provided, it would do nothing but slow down the inevitable fact I'll die of starvation anyway. Honestly, everyone would be facing a slow death of starvation, probably one of the most drawn-out, horrifying deaths there is. If plants are gone, everything is gone soon after. I might even choose to commit suicide before then because I can't imagine anything worse than starving to death, I feel sick if I'm hungry for more than 8 hours, I can't imagine what it feels like to go the 3-4 weeks it takes to finally die of starvation. I remember watching a movie about the end of the world, where everything was horrible and where the government issued pills that guaranteed a peaceful death to all it's citizens so they can choose when they go. I think people would choose to go long before the mass panic and horrifying realities of starvation surface. Probably within the final days the most desperate people will be resorting to cannibalism and all sorts of disgusting stuff. NO thank you.
