  1. The most famous is the Maquis in Corsica. A mixture of wild herbs that hit you when you descend from the plane and very unique.

    Some other special vegetations there are: truffles, fraise des bois (wild strawberries) cepes mushrooms, chestnuts, and lavender fields in the Midi.
