Veggie dogs? The last time i made Veggie dogs i threw them out because ?

the dogs were really hard to chew is that how they are supposed to feel like and the taste wasn't all that great either.

Smart dogs are gross.  They smell funny and taste even worse.  I like the tofutti bratwurst.  Very good!  Lots of garlic- that's fine w/ me, some people don't like.  I've had them pan fried (definitely need to add oil), microwaved, and on the grill.

I make smart dogs and they are soft.  They are actually a little softer than hot dogs.  They don't grill very well.  Try putting a little oil in a pan and frying them until each side is done.  That's what I do.

They're not supposed to be hard though.

That's the experience I had with those hot dogs. They are extremely salty too,. Make your own veggie burgers instead. Good recipes on FoodNetwork.com~on Guy's section (Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives)

Sweetie, it sounds like you over cooked them. Unlike meat hot dogs, soy hot dogs are ready to eat out of the box. They only need to be wormed up. I pop mine in the microwave for 30 seconds.

i like morningstar brand and i think they're really really good.  not going to be as juicy as say an all beef hot dog, but they're a great imitation i think.
