  1. Not very hard, just be sure to eat a variety of things, and not just one vegetable.

  2. The Level of difficulty, depends on your diet.  If you are used to eating large quantities of meat and fish, then it will be very difficult, although if you do not eat alot, then it wouldn't be as hard.  It is easy to avoid it once you are at home and dont purchase it from the grocery; but if you are at a restaurant or with friends, then it is more challenging.

But if you are going to become a vegetarian, then you must do your research on the diet requirements so that you maintain your strength.  Since becomming vegetarian, my skin has improved and I feel stronger and healthier.

The first thing you should do, is figure which type of vegetarian you want to be. There are several types of VEGETARIANS:

    Lacto-ovo- vegetarian

When most people think of vegetarians, they think of lacto-ovo-vegetarians. People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products are lacto-ovo vegetarians (“lacto” comes from the Latin for milk, and “ovo” for egg).

Lacto-vegetarian is used to describe a vegetarian who does not eat eggs, but does eat dairy products.

Ovo-vegetarian refers to people who do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs.

    Vegan

Vegans do not eat meat of any kind and also do not eat eggs, dairy products, or processed foods containing these or other animal-derived ingredients such as gelatin. Many vegans also refrain from eating foods that are made using animal products that may not contain animal products in the finished process, such as sugar and some wines.

The vegetarian can be a healthy option, as it reduces fat intake and lowers cholestrol.  However, you have to ensure that you eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, to get all the vitamins and minerals from your foods. To do this, you have to exercise regularly, and use the vegetarian diet pyramid:

You should know, that VEGETARIANS DO NOT EAT FISH NOR FISH PRODUCTS NOR ANIMAL FATS ! Although

    Pescatarian (also spelled pescetarian)

The word “pescatarian” is occasionally used to describe those who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish. Although the word is not commonly used, more and more people are adopting this kind of diet, usually for health reasons or as a stepping stone to a fully vegetarian diet.

  3. being a vegetarian is a lot of fun! goveg.com has a vegetarian starter kit if you like. if you still have a taste for meat you can try soy or tofu products. they can be seasoned to taste like any of your favorite meat dish. go to whole foods. they have a GREAT selection of vegetarian foods (tv dinners, frozen food, soy meats). its not hard being a vegetarian at all. even if u go to a steakhouse you can always order non-meat sides.

  4. Its really easy if your heart is in it!

Just make sure to get lots of protein and calcium.  Take daily vitamins.  You can get protein from nuts and tofu!

  5. i am a vegetarian, its not that hard to become one if you are open minded to the curlety animals are going through each and every day. u seem very open minded. try visting peta.com if u r an adult or peta2.com if u are a teen. there are very helpful tip and recipies. thank u for helping animals. did u no that a veritarian safes 96 animals a year and vegans save even more?

  6. I didn't find it hard at all to give up meat but I hadn't really expected that I'd stick with it however I found that my feelings about the issue stopped me from ever feeling like eating meat because the thought of the animals would always be there, so if you feel strongly about it, it shouldn't be too difficult. To try and stay healthy I didn't really change my diet dramatically I simply replaced meat with alternatives such as quorn or had extra vegetables instead with my meals. Although I think that it is a good idea to keep in mind the things you ought to be eating such as green vegetables high in iron and high protein food such as beans, eggs and dairy as these are what you would usually gain from meat. Good Luck

  7. the first thing I did was watch the video at meat.org and that was the beginning of a new way of life for me.  I grew up with a family who loves to eat and everything revolvs around food and we are all big people. Since becoming vegetarian and I also gave up soda I lost 50 pounds (since March).

I like the morning star and Boca products and I just made the decision to not eat any meat. Period.  It's really not that hard when you have those images of cruelty etched in your brain.

  8. i had no trouble converting.  i do suggest that you consider a diverse vegetarian diet to stay healthy, that is... don't just live off Boca burgers and nothing else; also consult with a doctor about vitamins/supplements you should be taking (actually everyone should do that).  my mil got us "vegetarian times" magazine, it's mostly just ads for overpriced organic stuff and supplements, but there are enough good recipes to be worth it (at least when someone else is paying for the subscription!)

edit: also get used to reading labels, it's amazing what they can sneak animal products/meat/fats into!  even some vitamins and cheeses (mostly the imported artistan varieties) are not vegetarian.

  9. well if you truly and deeply believe that its wrong its not hard at all. just take vitamins and drink your milk (unless your vegan). i have been a vegetarian for 5 years now.

  10. I've been a vegetarian since 4th grade! It's actually pretty easy. There are so many soy and rice and other products out there that imitate meat...they actually taste pretty good! Also, being a vegetarian made me try lots of new foods, most of which I liked, including tofu! Also, you do need to get protein still, which can be obtained by taking supplements or eating more beans, nuts, and legumes. Being a vegetarian is actually very healthy because red meat consumption actually causes most of the health problems with your heart and stuff. If you're against the treatment of cows, pigs, and chickens, go to peta.org or peta2.com to find resources. There are other sites like tryveg.com that are out there to help you too. Don't forget to find some fun vegetarian recipes! Basically, being a vegetarian for whatever reason has so many benefits! Try it, you don't have to stick with it. Good luck!!!

  11. It's really easy however if you're gonna be a Vegetarian, Meat Eaters and Vegans might question you're views. Vegans will say that it is hypocritical to eat dairy products and anything from an animal and Meat Eaters will tell you that humans are supposed to eat meat.

  12. become an ethical omnivore like me! i care about how animals are treated but i like chicken and fish too much to stop eating it so i chose organic free range or locally sourced food.

if you are gonna become veggie then make sure you are getting enough iron rich foods in your diet (lentils and lots of greens etc) and vitamin b12 which depletes in a bout a year i think.

  13. I've been a vegetarian for almost 6 years now. It is not hard at all once you get past the initial craving for meat. Try and eat more greens than anything else. It's really good for you and will help you maintain a stable body weight as welll. You can also get your regular protein needs from lentils, tofu etc. (this is one of the main excuses for not becoming vegetarian.) I think you are making a great decision and i'm sure you'll get a lot of satisfaction out of it. Good luck! =)

  14. Some people start off slowly by elimanting each meat group

(red meat, poultry, pork, et cetera)

Others, like me, quit cold turkey.

It may be hard the first week, especially if you told people that you're a vegetarian. You'll have to tell people WHY you're the way you are. And, of course, you're going to get snarky remarks. It's going to happen. But, believe me, it gets really easy. I'm the only one in my family that's a vegetarian, and I've had to go throught the h**l that is Thankgiving...not very many vegetarian friendly foods there.

But, health wise, it's going to be one of the best decisions you'll every make. You'll lose weight, feel better, and you can get all your protiens and vitamins from fruits and vegetables. It's not hard. And after a couple weeks, even the smell of meat will repulse you. If you have a hard time transitioning, then there are a lot of 'faux' meats out there, that taste pretty much like the real thing, without the inhuman slaughtering of animals. So, I wish you luck on your quest to becoming a fellow veg-head.

  15. hey im vegitarian and it takes a while to get used to

once u start being vegitarian its hard then you get used to it.

  16. It's actually really easy!!  I just take a vegan support multi-vitamin
