Okay. So the hubby wants a mini van for the family.. I say no. I am used to driving a jeep and loved it. We have 4 kids and of course friends that go along everywhere. We are both over 6 feet tall and of course our kids are tall as well. We love to take road trips so Gas milage is a big deal to us as well. We are looking for something comfortable, affordable and efficient. He is a Union man so of course he wants to buy something Anerican. What are your experiences? Any suggestions? Thank you so much! I have a feelign I am going the mini van route though.. agghhhh Soccer mom here I come!

  1. American SUVs/Vans:

    Dodge Caravan/Chrysler Town & Country

    Dodge Durango

    Chevy Tahoe Hybrid

    Foreign Makes:

    Toyota Sequoia

    Honda Pilot

  2. The Honda Pilot is a great choice, seats 8 comfortably, and last I heard they were built in America by American workers.  They are comfortable and have excellent performance.

I would shy away from a minivan if you can.  They don't offer the same kind of performance and if someone hits you it costs many, many time more than an SUV to repair!  In general an SUV is safer, although this varies from vehicle to vehicle.

I respect the desire many people have to buy American cars, but many American cars are built overseas, and many foreign cars are built here in the U.S.  For me, it matters much less about who owns the car company, but it does matter who had the assembly line jobs and actuall put my car together!
