So I'm looking at an ad for a truck and in the discription it says "Parts Only, no papers!" Does that mean the vehicle can't be road registered without papers? The truck is in awesome condition and I can't imagine it not being on the road.

  1. It could have been an insurance write off that someone has repaired. Quite often, if the insurer deems it such a serious write off that it would be dangerous to put back on the road, they surrender the documents back to the licensing authorities to stop it ever being put back on the road, but can still sell the salvage for scrap and parts. When they sell the salvage, the buyer is not meant to put it back on the road, but it does happen. You need to ask yourself whether you would feel safe in a vehicle that the insurer wanted off the road, and also consider the problems in getting insurance if you buy it as if it is a write off, not many insurers will take the risk and insure it.
