Vehicles with Best Gas Mileage - Owner Reviews USA?

Question

I am searching for a new vehicle with the best gas mileage available to purchase. I would prefer to purchase a non-hybrid model and would like as much hourse power as possible. Please leave feedback about your personal knowledge of vehicles with great gas mileage and help me make a fuel efficent choice ; )

2003 BMW 325xi- 28MPG on Premium, a Lead Foot, Highway Miles. Good Car, expensive to repair.

92-95 Honda Civic VX Hatchback. They get 48/55 EPA mpg. Not the best horsepower in the world but you could always buy a second car with the gas you save, keep it in the garage for when you want to have some fun and someday sell it for a lot more because it shouldn't get that many miles seeing as its in the garage most days.
