About 2 months ago my mother and friend passed away In a car crash involving another driver who struck her from behind going 90mhp on a 70 mhp limit freeway.

My mother was in the slow lane driving 65mhp.

After she was struck from behind her vehicle swerved off the road and fliped.

the man who hit her was not injured, and the investigation has concluded.

the trooper told my family that he would be isued a speeding ticket, and if he could change the law he would.

I know this is not the law here in florida, and would like to know what to do about this, I cant rest until I see this through,

I know I am suposed to be doing something.

But WHAT?

where to start?

  1. Try talking with your states district attorney. I am sure that he or she would take the time and speak with you and sorry for your loss.

  2. You might want to talk to an attorney. It sounds like you may have grounds for a civil suit. But, I'm not sure.

  3. Definitely consult with the best attorney you can find. I wish I could tell you more. Very sorry for your loss.

  4. Speak with an attorney who deals with wrongful death and serious injury.

  5. I suspect your only recourse may be in the civil realm such as a "wrongful death" damage suit... something along that line. Sounds from what your saying that the state has done what it is going to do... nothing you can do with that.

  6. Sue him in civilian court for "wrongful death". Like the Goldman family did to OJ Simpson. If you get the money, put it into a nonprofit foundation.

Then petition your local state rep to change the law, gather up signatures yourself, using foundation for money. Put up TV ads if you have to. Petition the governor. You'll get the law changed if you really put your mind to it.
