Question:

Veneers questions?

I have pretty major teeth issues right now. I was working with a dentist for awhile to fix just minor cavities/etc so i could be fitted for braces. they filled a very small hole which with in a few weeks the filler came out and made the whole larger. I was so upset that i stopped going back to the dentist. its been at least 3 years now and my teeth are worse (I know go figure).

now i have more cavities and tooth decay. im wondering if anyone has gotten veneers. how much does it cost? and is it worth talking to a dentist about?

or would it be better just to try to fix the current problem teeth?

any serious advise would be great!

but please don't add stupid remarks, im not looking for critism

Thanks!

  1. #1 did you get the braces....if so did you take care of them to prevent further decay...?

#2--A small hole cannot be made larger by 'the filler coming out'

#3 Why are your teeth worse....have you been seeing a dentist? Taking care of the problems you had?...or letting it go?  Why would you stop going to any dentist ? 3 years is a long time to go when you are having decay issues....

#4 Veneers are expensive....@$1000 a tooth....it is  a large investment, that has to be maintained by good oral care and regular dental visits....would you be able to do that?

#5---Ultimately it is up to you.....take the time daily, have good oral hygiene, and regular dental visits...take care of the teeth you have, correct existing problems, and then when something does come up....it can be managed and is a single problem...not a "whole mouth full of cavities" problem
