  1. How do you make a Venetian blind?

    Poke him in the eye.

  2. If you use a decent drill and masonary drill bit the tiles should not crack. I have drilled numerous tiles and not had a problem, however if they are old, they may crack.

Don't be tempted to glue the blinds onto the tiles with something like "no more nails" as this may result in your tiles being ripped off.

    NB:

Blinds need a firm fixing becuase not only do they need their own weight supporting, but you will lift and lower them which causes greater force to be placed on the fittings.

So the screws mustn't be resting on the tiles once screwed in as this could damage your tiles or pull them off. So make sure you use the correct type of rawl plugs and the holes you drill are big enough.

    I hope this helps.

To be perfectly honest, if they crack, they crack. So it muight be an idea to think of alternatives if they do before you start? As I say I have never had a problem.

  3. The way to fit venetian blinds is at the top of the inside of the window all you have to do to stop tiles cracking is put masking tape  in a cross were you are going to drill the whole and thats it it stops the tile from perishing it does work i promise done it loads of times once the hole is done remove the tape

  4. Use a spear point brill bit in a cordless drill to drill through the tile only, use even pressure and a slow speed. you will feel the glaze of the tile break. use a bit that's larger than the masonry bit you're going to use. drill for the rawl plug, but make sure the plug is below the level of the tile as the tile WILL CRACK when you tighten the s***w if you don't. you can use a masonry bit but use the masking tape method mentioned above, bit remember to go slow through the tile. good luck.
