  1. Politics

Venezuela has a population of 23.9 million people.  The national capital is       Caracas.  There are 23 states in Venezuela.  The largest is Bolivar measuring 238,000

km.  Marcaibo has a population of 2,600,000 people.

The types of Governments that they have are a president, vice president, and

Supreme Tribunal of Justice.  There federal government is divided into five powers: The

executive, the legislated, the judicial. the electoral, and the citizen powers.

The Executive Power has a president, vice president, and a Council of Ministers.

    ...

The president is elected to a five-year term and can be reelected.

The Legislative Power power is the only one group of people, The National

Assembly.  The National Assembly votes on the laws that the executive power creates.

The Supreme Tribunal of Justice is the main body of the Judicial Power.

The Electoral Power is separate from all the other powers of the government.  Its

members are responsible for making sure election laws are followed.

The Citizen Power has a group of people, the Republican Moral Council, who

make sure that the public money is used properly.

Hugo Chavez is the president of Venezuela.  He controls the entire country.  He

controls all of the government including the five powers.  Hugo Chavez also picks on the

    laws to make.

One court in Venezuela is the Tribunal Supremo de Justicia.  Some armed forces

are the Metropolitan Police Force and the Armed forces of Cooperation.

Education for children is quite similar to the U.S.  The law requires all children in

Venezuela to attend school between the ages of six (6) and 14.  The government wants everyone to have attended school for at leas nine (9) years.  There literacy rate is 93 ...

percent.  They also have the choice of going to college.  But when they go to college,

they don’t stay there in dorm rooms.  They go home.  The best university in Venezuela

is Universidad Central in Caracas.  Most Venezuelan universities are private, and only

the top students are able to attend.

  2. Congress proposes laws, Chavez approves/denies them. It's kinda like our country, except that here Bush simply overrides Congress by issuing executive orders to bypass the laws he doesn't want to follow.

  3. In Venezuela Chávez rules by decree. He has an Assembly (Congress) with only one house of Representatives that's 100% controlled by the president.

  4. Like any other country. If you kiss ***, in this case Chavez, you get ahead. If not you get left behind or worse.
