The in-form Virginia and Solangel, who entered in the tournament as un-seeded shuttlers, showed a remarkable performance and overpowered the top seeded Tingting and Camila in a spectacular three-set fight.
The lower ranked Virginia and Solangel played with precision against their experienced opponents and remained successful in finishing off the match in rubber games with a reasonable score on the board.
In the meanwhile, the top seeded Tingting and Camila played well in the opening game but failed to show their impressive skills in the following sets and eventually went down in the title match with a respectable margin.
In the first set, Virginia and Solangel tried their best to play positive badminton but they failed to build lead against their higher ranked opponents and remained struggling until the mid-game interval.
After the one-minute break, the un-seeded Virginia and Solangel geared up their speed in all areas but failed to shake the confidence of their opponents and eventually lost the first game with a 15-21 score on the board.
The second game was absolutely fantastic when both pairs showed their aggression on court and remained close until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the lower ranked Virginia and Solangel played positive and fast game which helped them to remain ahead on score board at the crucial stage and they ultimately took the set with a margin of 21-17.
In the deciding game, Virginia and Solangel remained positive in opening half and took a reasonable lead without facing much trouble.
After the break, Virginia and Solangel continued putting up spectacular show of top quality badminton and remained ahead on the board to end up the final set with a reasonable margin of 21-17.
The underdogs Virginia and Solangel won the title after putting up strong show in the final match and finished it with a considerable 15-21, 21-17 and 21-17 score on the board.
