Venezuela vs. Argentina – Player Ratings for Venezuela (Part 3)
Rondon – 5
Malaga’s fans had their eyes on the Venezuelan striker as he is currently playing for them at the front. However, for him, the game against the Argentineans was a nightmare. He wasted the best chance of the game as he couldn’t find the back of the net when
he was one-on-one with the Argentinean goalkeeper – http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Romero-c33100. The Argentinean defenders expected something a little tougher from the Venezuelan striker but he was rarely a threat throughout the game. He was silent and rarely got the ball at his feet.
He was not entirely at fault as the midfielders could not really feed him with the best of through balls but he was wasteful a few times which clearly showed that it was not his day. While the first half saw him missing a great goal scoring opportunity, he
was rarely seen in the second half as the Argentinean back four man marked him perfectly and did not allow him to make a move forward.

He was the best holder of the ball in the final third for the Venezuelans. His dribbling was quite extraordinary as he was making life difficult for the Argentinean defence line. He completed most of his dribbles against the Argentinean defenders but despite
having such a good footwork, he lacked the ball and the final delivery. He took a shot on goal during the first half but it couldn’t really find the target and it rarely troubled Romero. However, later he showed that football is not only about scoring from
chance but also about creating chances. He tried to play the ball through towards his team mates but he simply couldn’t deliver the final ball expected. He had the game under control for a few minutes but his delivery let him down on more than one occasion.
Andres Tunez Arceo – 5.5
He was substituted just before the final whistle and he was not even given a lot of chance to impress. Despite having merely two to three minutes before the game finished, he still managed to give one extraordinary pass forward but the Venezuelans couldn’t
really capitalize on it as their moral was down after missing out on two extraordinary goal scoring opportunities.
Yohandry Orozco – 5.5
The Venezuelan coach made three substitution and all three of them were late during the game. Orozco came on late during the 74th minute of the game. He had 16 minutes till the 90th minute and he couldn’t really show the Venezuelan
coach that he deserves a spot in the first team. There was a reason why Venezuela rarely made changes and it was because they did not have suitable substitutes on the bench. The coach did not want to change the whole system while facing a team like Argentina;
therefore, fewer players got a chance to impress throughout the game.

He came on during the 90th minute to replace Amorebieta in the defence. He got to touch the ball only once before the final whistle was blown.
