Venezuelan female boxer Alys Sanchez announces comeback – Boxing news
Venezuelan Female featherweight contender Alys ‘La China’ Sanchez has revealed that she is coming back to the boxing world after more than two years of a career break.
Sanchez has been out of the ring since her unanimous points’ victory over the 26-year-old Panama national featherweight contender, Kathia Montuto in their four-round competitive bout at the Centro de Convenciones Atlapa in Panama.
Sanchez while speaking to the press mentioned, “I have waited a long time for this. For various reasons I had to leave boxing but now I am back. I have months of training and I think it is time to try and return. Still not exactly where I will do it, Panama,
Mexico or a third country, but I am just waiting for the opportunity. I have a lot to contribute to women’s boxing and I will do my best to achieve my goal of being world champion.”
Sanchez was out of the ring for a long period because she had to deal with her 3-year-old child and secondly because there was a lot of work pending as she is a management student at the Universidad Politecnica Territorial de Aragua.
However, she is now planning to make her comeback to the boxing world as soon as possible. She has already started her training session to get back into the same rhythm again.
Sanchez is an undefeated female boxing prospect and in a few of her fights, she displayed extraordinary footwork and punching power in the early stages of her career.
After turning pro, Sanchez fought five of her total fights of which she won all the five against the best-selected opponents of featherweight division. She scored the first-ever Technical Knockout Decision fighting against Yessica Perez of Colombia in 2008
at the Centro de Convenciones Atlapa in Panama.
Hopefully, Sanchez’s comeback will be stronger this time and she will continue recording victories.
