Venice's Carnival! Better to stay in Venice proper or Lido if I have to catch a train to Rome carnival day?

Where is the train station? Better to stay in Lido or Jesolo? Will there be so much people congestion that staying outside of Venice be better?

If you aren't going to participate in the Canival then it's best to avoid Venice proper - the city is crowded. The train station is in Venice and in Mestre too (so you don't have to go into town).

The train station is actually on Venice and is not necessarily close to Lido.  You would have to take a water bus from Lido to Venice and then to the train station.  

Stay in Venice.
