  1. It depends on how many times you're going to ride the vaporetto.  We stayed three days so bought a three-day pass, but when we later figured it out, we realized that we could have gotten away with a two-day pass.

That is just for the vaporetto pass.  If you mean the pass that allows you in various public restrooms, etc., that is not worth it at all.

If you only have two days, stay in Venice and leave Verona for another visit.

  2. the Venicfe card is for the vaporetto and the museums. Look at the web site for all the "benefits".

You may better off with a two day vaporetto pass. the cost for a single ride on the vap is 6 Euro (about $7.80!!!) a ride. the ticket is good for 45 minutes (if I remember correctly) and only in one direction. I mean you can't back track.

Walk.... Venice is a place to explore by foot (of course having a small boat is even better). get you best walking shoes and prepare your self for a long and wonderful walk. Try to get lost in the city.... you really never will - it's fun.

Gondolas - Euro 80.00 for a 45 minute ride. Take it in the evening. Avoid the mornings for there is too much traffic on the canals.

Finally - Spend the two days in Venice. Next time go to Verona - it too is a city worth discovering.

  3. Hello,

Just so you know, the venice card is for the vaporetto not the gondolas.  Gondolas take up to 6 (sometimes 8) people on tours thru the back canals.  It is very romantic, especially at sunset, but very expensive.  The vaporetto are the water taxi that takes you across and up/down the grand canal.  The venice card covers this.  If you are in venice for 2 days it will be cheaper for you to buy individual tickets.  Once you are in the city you won't really need the vaporetto to get around.  It is a small city and you can walk from one end to the other in about an hour ( if you don't get lost).  The only other time you will need the vaporetto is to get to the outer Islands like Murano and Burano.  I have never bought a vaporetto ticket for any other purpose.  With the city being so small and the bridges crossing the grand canal, save your money and just enjoy this wonderful city.
