Venus Williams dress update for Wimbledon Tennis
The American Professional tennis player, Venus Williams captured the crowd of Wimbledon with her Tina Turner outfit and within no time found her furrowed.
However, her most recent dress won’t instigate the international fuss produced by her French Open crook, but it was attention grabbing for sure; a silver coloured dress along with an eye catching skirt that might make a record of embellishments in a Grand Slam Tournament.
As for as her game is concerned, the five time champion at Wimbledon played pretty well in the first round on Monday, beating Rossana de los Rios 6-3, 6-2.
The recent dresses of Venus Williams reminds every one of the fashion design of Turner during the period from 1970-1980. Williams simply admires Turner as an artist. According to Venus, her black dress created a ‘fantasy of nakedness’ in Paris. However, the American tennis sensation had to take special care about the conventional rules regarding the outfit at the All England’s Club.
Here, white is the king of all colours. There is no fantasy at Wimbledon for sure. However, it still had a frill pattern in order to make it more classy and stylish, as said by the right handed attacking tennis player.
While commenting on the Tournament, she said that there is no doubt about the fact, that it is a fine opportunity especially after making it into the finals for a number of times and triumphing in a row in 2007 as well as 2008.
Venus is seeded by the book makers as Number 2 with her sister, Serena who is seeded Number 1 to win the title. Serena Williams will play her first match today. Robin Soderling, Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova are the rest of the names who will also play today.
While Williams made a comfortable win towards the end of the match, Roger Federer from the men’s side had to put a lot of extra effort to defeat Alejandro Falla 5 in his match on the first day of the Tournament.
Andy Roddick, the Number 5 player in another match defeated Rajeev Ram, his fellow American player in a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 set. On the other hand, Jurgen Melzer, the Number 16 ranked player knocked out the Jamaican Dustin Brown in a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 set.
Justine Henin as well as Kim Clijsters, both the early champions of the Grand slam in their respective matches triumphed and thus made a strong return to the game of tennis. Clijsters contested at the All England Club after a period of four years and defeated Maria Elena in a 6-0, 6-3 set where as Henin on the other hand knocked out Anastasija Sevastova while playing her first game after a time period of three years.
Henin made a return to the game with a strong desire to win a Wimbledon title that has been a far cry for her so far.
Another surprising young entry of the last season Melanie Oudin started off this season by beating Anna-Lena Groenefeld in a 6-3, 6-0 set. On the other hand, Francesca Schiavone who was a champion at French Open this season was kicked out within a time period of just two hours and 60 minutes by Vera Dushevina in a 6-7 (0), 7-5, 6-1 set.
Williams while commenting on Federer’s performance in the first match said that it was a tough contest and it doesn’t feel good to see a great player like Federer struggling badly for victory.
However, as far as her own performance is concerned, Williams won the match with a high degree of ease without any major blow. If she continues to play this way, no one in the world can stop the American tennis ace, Venus Williams from reaching the Wimbledon final once again.
