Venus fly trap... terrarium necessary?

Question

Bought new VFT, is a terrarium necessary or can this be planted and treated as a normal house plant? i understand the humidity, dampness and 90% bright light... but do i have to have a terrarium?

Yes. Venus Fly Traps need those to trap the humidity from the sun in the day for at night. Then you uncover them  in the day so they can catch food and more sunlight and humidity in the soil.

No, you do not need a terrarium. Using a terrarium is one of the top ways people kill VTF. Also you should not treat it as a house plant, because it is not one. It needs full sun, distilled water, and poor soil. Never let it dry out though. It also need winter dormancy, so it NEEDS to be outside. It might be able to live inside, they just wont live as well, and will have small traps.
