Vera Zvonareva preparing herself for the upcoming challenges

After stealing the headlines as a result of reaching the 2010 Wimbledon final, the twenty five years old Vera Zvonareva is looking to come out even more strongly in the upcoming United States Open tournament 2010 in New York.
The Russian is trying hard in her practice sessions to reach the height of perfection as far as her game is concerned.
"I am working really hard to improve my game with every single match and I won’t give up and end my hard work and practice until I start playing flawlessly, however there are not more than two to three game per season that a player can play without committing any single mistake”, Zvonareva told the reporters at the San Diego Open this Monday.
"I am putting all my efforts to prepare myself for the summer hard court season to get that flawless tennis out of me”, she added.
As far as the ongoing San Diego tennis tournament is concerned, the Russian tennis player is seeded number three behind Samantha Stosur as well as Jelena Jankovic.
Although pretty satisfied with her performance at the grass court Grand Slam championship this season, where she knocked down Jelena Jankovic as well as the United States Open winner Kim Clijsters, before falling down to Serena Williams in the final battle, the Russian has still not stopped practicing to overcome the improvement that is required in her game.
"It was a superb experience for me, however Serena had been in such big matches on so many occasions earlier as well so she went on the court to play just another battle”, Zvonareva said.
"I felt the pressure throughout the match at the All England Club, I wanted to perform at my very best however I couldn’t and there are no excuses for it. I did commit mistakes on a number of occasions and played even better in my previous matches of the tournament as compared to my final clash”, Vera added.
The Russian tennis ace also made her way into the doubles final along with Elena Vesnina.
"By the end of the tournament, I felt as if it was too much as I had to fight in both the doubles as well as the singles semis which was h**l tiring. As a result, I wasn’t feeling fresh and completely fit for the final battle. It was like I was pushing myself “, Vera said.
After the 2010 grass court Grand Slam tournament, Vera Zvonareva did take a break and attended her friend’s wedding ceremony in the Dominican Republic.
As far as the San Diego tennis tournament is concerned, Vera Zvonareva is of the opinion that in the absence of Serena Williams, she is not fearful of anyone else and believes that she has great chances of winning it and entering the Flushing Meadows with a greater level of confidence.
"Serena has been a major threat, otherwise it's a very interesting draw," said the twenty five years old Russian.
She has already won her round number one match of the San Diego tennis championship after getting the better of Dominika Cibulkova in three setter match with a final match score of 6-0 3-6 6-4. Vera after the match while commenting on her opponent’s game said, “I am fully aware of the fact that she is a real fighter so I had to concentrate till the end”, the Russian said after her victory in San Diego.
As far as the rest of the matches of the San Diego tennis tournament are concerned, the Wimbledon 2010 runner up, Vera Zvonareva is hopeful to play at her very best.
