Question:

Verified by Visa .. Won't verify my Visa. Why?

I'm trying to order something from Play-Asia.com, and they want Card verification. Seems normal.

2 options:

1. Send a copy of my Driver's license and credit card, by e-mail or fax.

NO.

2. Verify the card with "Verify by Visa"

So I try it, and it tells me my card can't be verified. What did I do wrong?

  1. I went to the Visa website https://usa.visa.com/personal/security/v... to see what needed to be done to "Verify by Visa".  I am assuming that you entered your card number and selected a password, are located within the US.  If you are not in the US or have a card issued from a country not in the US, you need to go to another website.

Another point that would make me nervous is that there is a listing of all stores that use "Verify by Visa" on the Visa website and Play-Asia is not listed.  http://usa.visa.com/personal/security/vi...

If all else fails go to either the Visa website or the Play-Asia website links below and ask either of them what the problem is with their respective websites.

  2. It may very well be that your credit card company is blocking transactions from that particular merchant due to fraudulent activity in the past.  The best thing to do is contact your credit card company and ask them.  This could have saved you a world of trouble by not being able to verify.
